Gregory Ramos Poem
the American hero who did not get the parade
who left his dog tags on the field
who's weapon fired his last round
who now rests on holy ground
for the ultimate price they paid
in my heart i have a place everyday
i remember the ones who did
and the family members who do
to make America free for me and you
it is not just a day , we should kneel down
and pray , for the warriors who are out in
the field fighting for the flag of freedom
we'll cherish those we've lost
and their gift to us , the total cost
this Memorial Day take a moment and pray

Gregory Ramos Poem
orange scattered skies
an awaited breeze
watching the birds
form tree to trees
a thunder clap
we pause..listen..scatter
distance dusk howling sounds
then the unmistakable movement
it slashes, ripping, gurgling moans
just a victim of the game
on top of the food chain
as I walk I cast a shadow long
blend in café ridden side walks
it’s moves are precise
just another prey in life
on top of the food chain
when you move you leave it clues
no doubt it’s on top of you
your eyes dart back and forth
moving from side to side
15 minutes of fame
My life on top of the food chain

Gregory Ramos Poem
for me i still have the war within
a fight that was not mine to hold
i should rejoice for our side won
but left some brother and sisters
in the cold flag draped boxes cold
put down my rifle, helmet, boots
married but the war was still going
the battle ground bloodied with scars
bullet riddled lies booby traps of deceit
she has to sleep with the enemy me
put to rest my bloody fatigues
take away the war in me
help me be the man i should
and over come the pride i could
remember those who paid the price
who won't come home
memorial day i lay it down
no more fight no more gun
just remembering the ones that
didn't make it home

Gregory Ramos Poem
felling the wind at my back
set free as it rustles my mood
about
the tall grass bends and bows
under my feet and my life
time is buried six feet below
what will you say
words spoken louder then thunder
though i still can't hear them
i don't believe i am supposed to hear
this wind at my back controls me
guides me past my humility
free from any political agenda
are the birds mocking me or
laughing with me, their grins
and peacock feather grace
are they better than the human race
i have found my life is expired
and these random thoughts now
get me tired
i have won the race held my head up
asked for forgiveness, been a witness
i have left a better then average corps
lost some weight and exercised
nothing has changed the birds still sing
though i am in the 5 ft 10 in cage

Gregory Ramos Poem
i see the galaxy closing in
no time to think or where to begin
been floating in this nevermore
for so long my wits are wearing thin
black hole o death creeping creeping
can't comprehend, this never
floating about in my endeavor
faster i fall spinning out of control
remember how life used to be
i was floating with you
hand in hand to a distant land
no distractions stars lite our way
galaxies passed us by , a shower
has the power as we turn to escape
your hit by a meteor that seal your fate
seems like yesterday maybe it was
i see my life in a never ending freeze
black hole o death is creeping in creeping in

Gregory Ramos Poem
evening blue skies
our hearts surrender
as love fills our eyes
soul-mates come together
life shimmering
bright as the Northern star
paths ever clearing
one road to life
and oh so far
not counted by miles
but by smiles
kindness , selflessness
service and a wish
for love
just imagine

Gregory Ramos Poem
for years i had learned to hold him down
swore i would never bring him around
dug a big hole and threw him in
never looked back , a new life had begun
gonna live right for you , and the kingdom that i knew
but on that day , just like any other day
woke up to the fleeting thought
of how it used to be , got cought up in the same old guy
the ground was breached , the ole man cried
free at last , i bought the lie
for it was the time my soul would die
and now the old man sighed
i have freely given into this guy
who was so wrong that it felt alright
and now he is taken over
my light is fading slower
in the glow of my redeemer
seems all is lost , from a pit i was tossed
as i looked at this rockey bottom
i realize that i have not forgotten
the creator of the heavens and the earth
by your hand you lift me up
it was you who never gave up
when i thirst you gave me your cup
and i say i need you now
on my knees i fall apart
from this point i make a start
to forgive myself and bury the old man again
with you i finally make my stand
so when he lifts his old guy head
breach the ground of the dead
it is you i will lean on
for the old man was here
now he is gone
i am free
