Trevor Barnett Poem
I saw a perfect shade of white
So elegant
That it must have been a figment
So elegant
Thump, Thump, Thump, Thump
Says the heart in my chest
When it sees you
The way it lays on you
Is stellar and sublime like the clouds in the sky
A white dress so perfect
That it blinds me with your radiating fairness
The whiteness of a soul
Is a cool shade of grey compared to your beauty
Tremble, Tremble
My knees are now dancing
In your presence
A rare sparkling jewel you are
Gleaming brightly
Like a white sun parting the clouds
Gleaming brightly

Trevor Barnett Poem
The leaf has fallen from everything it has known
The wind of despair drags the leaf aimlessly
The leaf can not find refuge from its tormentor
The Leaf begs for mercy
Withered and dry, as others float aimlessly by
Wishing for their company, wanting a friend
But, only receiving an evanescent try
Oh, how fate does not bend
Envy the evergreen
They dance with the wind of melancholy
Never falling from grace, never losing to nature's game
Why are they immortal when the rest wonder the earth alone until death
Crumbling, the wind does not stop, nor does it care too
Falling apart, the earth's soil reclaiming me
Fading away, is this peace, or is this just death
I am lonely, afraid

Trevor Barnett Poem
An ideal renaissance man
A polymath
Did you know a Mona Lisa
Leonardo
You have a beautiful mind
They said the Earth was the center
You said the Sun
On your death bed you published truth
Copernicus
You have a beautiful mind
You have wrote classic symphonies
You can not hear
You still had faith in your music
Beethoven
You have a beautiful mind
Most people are oblivious
They can not see
Only concerned with frivolous
People
If you only knew beauty
All knowing transparent eyeball
You see nature
Remind us of why we are here
Emerson
You have a beautiful mind
Eighteen hundred poems hidden
A chest of words
Treasure, you'd rather be the one
Miss Dickinson
You have a beautiful mind
Chasing after a beam of light
An abstract thought
You understand our universe
Albert Einstein
You have a beautiful mind

Trevor Barnett Poem
The petal has floated into a new vast world
The wind of harmony uplifts the petal
The petal is drifting with serendipity
The petal is in love
Bliss is all I see, floating on winds that freed me
Dancing with others in a swooning flurry
How long will nirvana last without my tree
Time, please do not hurry
Pity the perennial
They are isolated from winds of passion
Never taking a chance, never will they see unknown beauty
Why are they watching us while we explore all of mother nature's creation
Fading, the sun relinquishes my mortal soul
Withering away, the earth is reaping me
Crumbling, winds spread my ashes into the sunset
I am ready, sweet death

Trevor Barnett Poem
The greatest illusion is stillness
Numb to the sense of spinning on this atlas stone
Unaware of twirling on a celestial clock
We are a mere blemish on a cog
In this device of time
Atlas are you unable to rest?
Put your burden down and for a moment be still
Let us be immortal like gods of olympus
Give us strength to defeat this titan
Our adversary time
Take us back
To relive our dear bliss
The moments that linger in our minds
They're the fabric that make up the soul
Turn time into oblivion with sweet scents of anodyne
Atlas chooses to carry his stone
Striding to his never ending destination
The cruel paradox that ends our short bleak lives
This colossal does not rest or sleep
It's intangible time

Trevor Barnett Poem
Falling at a terminal velocity
From the ether we fall at a speed that is
Slow
What is my purpose, my destiny
Inevitable fate befalls the
Snow
Colliding with the other frosty white souls
Scattered across the ground sparkling like bright white
Gold
We're born in a season that is dead
How can something so white and pure be
Cold
Like vampires the sun is our infirmity
Dawn approaches illuminating hues of
Wry
The epiphany before my death
Is everything is impermanent
Why

Trevor Barnett Poem
No stellar night sky can compare
To your long enchanting black hair
The moon is jealous of your radiance
Venus tries to ignore your elegance
Nebulas now appear too dull
Your aura, the most colorful
Your eyes are like a vast black hole
Consuming all, my entire soul
You are the solar wind that makes me dance
Like the aurora. such a sublime trance
The most graceful comet you are
My compass points to you, my star
I'm stuck here on the lonely ground
Wishing for you to come around
Super Novas explode in my small mind
They're thoughts of you, the most beautiful kind
I miss the way we used to talk
Memories of a midnight walk

Trevor Barnett Poem
I'm in a land where everyone is dying
Sweet child please awake
I look up at the sky screaming, crying
God, why do you take!
What's the reason for living in this world without my baby?
I'm in a store where everyone is buying
I've got a headache
My child is loud, and is quite defying
Tom for heaven's sake!
Just get the damn toy he wants so he will shut up, just maybe?
My parents are dead, not here anymore
I sell my bare flesh
They've labeled me sinner, scarlet, a whore
Malice thoughts, a thresh!
My face is bruised and bloody from the stones of licentious men
My parents are stupid, I slam my door
We just do not mesh
I hear the knocks, but I choose to ignore
The night air feels fresh!
I'll show them, I'm running away from home; what will they think then
Today is my birthday and I turned eight
It's time to be tough
I get my gun and go fight for my state
It's scary and rough
It hurts to breath in, It's so cold and dark; I want my mommy
Today is my birthday and I'm out late
I've not drank enough
Bartender another drink I feel great
Wow, I am hot stuff
I stumble to their table, I vomit like a tsunami

Trevor Barnett Poem
Before the storm everything appeared to be lucent
But, then the rain fell upon my window
All the things I knew, now blurred
Light that once guided me is now a maze
Senses I once trusted have betrayed me, forgotten me
I can no longer discern what is right from the wrong
Are the morals I know and believe real?
Or rules created by man?
Do these rules protect or control mankind?
The drops of rain have obscured my moral sense of the world
The decadent things in life now seem genuine
I'm fain to go to a fane filled with feign
Because it no longer feels nefarious
It's still raining outside; A blurry conscience I have

Trevor Barnett Poem
It overwhelms us
Passion is impulsive and possessing
Passion is reckless, yet it's benevolent at the same time
When passion ripens like sweet fruit it's love; but, when it's like bitter poison it's hate
Between love and hate
There appears to be a big difference
But, there's no difference they're the same in every single way
The method in the way that they're used is what makes the feign contrast seem to exist
Passion is a thriving garden
That is flourishing with life and beauty that is ambient
Passion is a cemetery
Filled with agony and covered in dried roses and briars
It will consume us
Will it make us vulnerable or weak?
How will we use our medium passion; will it be belligerent or peaceful?
Love and hate is a part of something we don't understand, will it kill or save us?
