God

I come to you on bended knees
Knowing you will hear my pleas
By your side is where I long to be
Oh, God,be mercilful to me

Your love I know will forever last
As you free me from my past
In your debt I'll always be
Oh, God, be merciful to me

Lord, I look up with pleading eyes
Toward Heaven, beyond the skies
Your face soon I hope to see
Oh, God, be merciful to me

Now my death, I know is nigh
Take me Lord, with you on high
There, with loved ones I will be
God has been merciful to me

Adam and Eve and the Fig Leaves

Here's something I have been wondering
For so very long
If Adam and Eve wore only figs leaves
How did they keep them on

It couldn't have been a rubber band
And certainly not super glue
I just really have no idea
Do you have a clue

What did they do in the winter
When fig trees are bare
One leaf wouldn't last all year
I think there's a mystery there

If only Eve hadn't eaten that apple
If only Adam hadn't taken a bite
I wouldn't be trying to solve this
And I'd sleep better at night

Your Umbrella

If you let a smile
Be your only umbrella
Expect a wet butt

Candle Light and Wine

Candle light and sweet wine
Dinner for two and soft music
A night made for love

Butterflies

Butterflies are a symbol of freedom
They should never be captured
But left to bring us joy

Crystal Tears

Every night she prayed for something
To make a change in her life
Knowing when he came home again
He would claim her as his wife

She had to do as he wanted
Never dared to refuse
Knowing that would only get her
Another painful bruise

Her silent tears fell like crystals
From a broken chandelier
She screamed, but only in her mind
So he could never hear

Those terrible years ended for her
When he was driving like a fool
He was so drunk he missed his turn
And drowned in the neighbor's pool

That night:

Her joyful tears sparkled like crystals
On a golden chandelier
She laughed out loud, not caring
If the whole, wide world could hear.

Dreaming

Late last night I had a dream
I'd gone to heaven, or so it seem
I opened a golden door
And walked into a "goodie" store

There was lots of food on every shelf
With a big sign saying, "Help yourself"
So, I ate my fill and put some in a sack
It was a long way home, I might need a snack

I started to leave, but to my dismay
Something at the door blocked my way
It was Satan, with a smile on his face
I wasn't in heaven, it was that other place

"You must step on my scales", he said
I was thinking, "I'd rather be dead"
It was then I woke up screaming
I sure was glad I was only dreaming!!!

A Robin

Yesterday I saw a Robin
That harbinger of Spring
After eating his fill at my feeder
He swiftly took wing

I'd like to know where he came from
I'd like to know where he's going
I hope he is heading South
Away from where it's snowing

He was such a pretty bird
I'd like for him to stay
But I know he has to spread the news
That Spring is on the way

So hurry Mr. Red Breast
Spead the happy word
After such a long winter
It's the best news I have heard

You Gotta Love Those Robins!

Bluebird of Happiness

The Bluebird of Happiness
I send to you today
He brings you all my love
As he hurries on his way

May his song fill your heart
As it was meant to be
And every time you hear it
You will think of me
