Text At Lunch Time

rushing bytes that nip and nick
demands of time to check and tick
a phone that rings and message that brings
a call me ... urgently
a pad to hold and touch and take
do other things to type and calls to make

To stop and smell a rose or flower that brings
Its own winter pine – never
To stand and gaze at wonder at the sky – never ever
Or smile to passerbys and recount a passage or tale of the day
Never – there is no time
My mind is gone to bytes

My battery died today
I froze and stood in the way of rushing bytes
By others that did not stop
Or stare or smile
They tapped and typed
With coffee and wiped away the frothy
Mouth that never spoke a single word
My Mind calm – its track stopped,
Was there panic – where to go and who text
Where’s my emails and the rest of giffs and jaffs
Of pgns and paffs of coms and co’s
Oh give it up and sit and watch the world go by
Smile, breath, think.

My Friend

Just Hold On
Until You Die
On that Day when it's time to Good bye
And your spirit gives its heavenly sigh

Just Hold on
Keep on Trying
Just Hold On
Its Better Than Dying

Hold Tight
Your arms will burn
Your spirit will yearn
To be released from its
temporary turn

And Should One Arm
weaken and lose
Your muscles will tire
Then My Friend
I will hold you
Its better than dying

When Reason Wont Work

I cant see and I cant hear
Caught between the hard rock and the sea
I cant run and I cant hide
I feel the incoming tide
Surround me on all sides

I cant breath and I cant think
I feel my feet begin to sink
Beneath the rocks below the sand
I need some help I need a hand

I cant reach and I cant hold
I losing my grip on it all
I cant talk and I cant shout
I lost my voice somewhere out .. there

I feel the world begin pull at my hair, fallen to my knees
 somewhere out there,
someone answer to my ….please

When did all this noise begin to
start, all these words to strike the heart
All those people who take the toll
The ones to please the ones who sold
Kindness for a wage, the gentle word for the rage

I stare in silence I look in pain
What have I got to gain
Let the sea carry me away
let the stones begin to weigh
..and carry me away..
