The Pastel Color Pallet

Cool morning zephyr blows a kiss to the early dew
Pastels of dawn stalk the parts of the dark horizon
Blazing orange streaking clouds come into view
A pallet of colors under some artistic advisement
Early light gently creeps across the mirror lake
All the sky begins glowing so intensely red
Singing birds fresh from sleep with a melody in their head
An unspoken message is in need of being said
Golden sun rises up before the kingdoms eyes
Trees have a certain gleam upon their leaves
Grass, flowers and even weeds glycine like that of ice
As morning yawns breathing a sigh of relief
Twilight is a diamond polished in the rough
Turns the ruby sky into a sapphire shade of blue
Our stellar solar star takes its place with rays of love
The dawn recedes while dropping softly out of view

The Starving Artist and the Penniless Poet

The starving artist and the penniless poet
No respect until their death and they know it
Such are the little things going unnoticed
People walking around looking out of focus
That’s when he writes, in the dead of night
Arranging the letters until they are right
Weaving words on the page like a spider’s silt
The tangled yarn of the crazy woman’s quilt
Meticulously, the artist forges a plan
Methodical and steady is the artist’s hand
Colors and shades so carefully placed
View it once and the image cannot be erased
Imprinted deep on the impressionable soul
Diamonds being crushed back into coal
Language gushing from an open vein
Bleeding out gallons of ordinary pain
The poets maybe poor but words make them wealthy
The artists may starve but their passion keeps them healthy
A lifetime supply of scribbled down lines
Reading humanity; interpreting the signs
The starving artist & the penniless poet
Know some things that others don’t know yet

Methods of Madness

Abstract acid flash back….psychedelic ***** slap
Man in a black mask….Turned into psychopath
Suddenly his mind snapped when he began to laugh
The world became a gas as he struck up the match
What sort of secrets goes on in the mind of madness?
Is it dark, timeless, and forged from the lives of the tragic?
More misunderstood that of the mysteries of death
How the human brain can change in just a single breath
The T.V. talks to me and no one else seems to see
My radio screams at me as it is full of vicious bees
In the ally; people walk right past, my nightmares
They aren’t afraid, as if nothing was ever even there
Doctor writes on his pad….and asks about my dad
He prescribes me poison….the worst I have ever had
He brings up my past….I know that he secretly laughs
Right to my angry face….and right behind my back
What sort of madman prescribes poisonous pills?
Continuously asking me, how they make me feel
It’s hard to explain that I don’t take the medication
I play along; telling him, it’s as if I’m on a long vacation
He has no idea that I’ve been on to him from the start
Provoking a lion in a cage; even with a Ph.D., isn’t very smart
The dark horse is nothing more than a paper tiger in disguise
He may hold the keys to my release but he isn’t very wise
That is why I stole those keys in the middle of the night

Jewel Encrusted Shade of Night

Jewel encrusted shade of night is crowned with a crescent moon
Fools entrusted with the jaded light depart the earth all too soon
The horizon abides the passing of time giving the stars a place to hide
Setting the stage, paving the way for the new ones scheduled to arrive
Acquiring minds stare at the sky hoping, dreaming, and wondering why
But, anything of worth deserves the respect of being truly observed
The jewel encrusted shade of night pulls the wool from our tired eyes
Shining down the knowledge of the light a billion years comes into site
Setting the stage upon mind, paving the way for all of mankind
Acquiring minds decipher the code paving the road for others to find
Jewel encrusted shade of night drearily makes its way across the sky
Fools entrusted by the jaded light, know too well that it never dies
But fails to realize that nothing can stop the unstoppable passing of time
And the horizon will require the blazing red sun to crawl over its back
Rising above, as it usually does rinsing the sky, of any traces of black
Sad as it is to say good bye we sit and watch the death of a night
