Thought

Gripped by a thought
that so provokingly awaits, washed by its fragrance
to be set apart, somehow freed into the distance
crippled alone by the joy it once brought
why is it alone it blossoms into misery?
centered by the wrongfulness of life, during summer does it lay waiting somehow to be cherished
slowly tarnishing by age that befriends its death
forgotten in a pile, where the once awakened turned in their graves
the months a count of the seconds that believed
unknown to the reasons my heart thought, unknown to the shackled being its memory brought
Gripped by a thought
given its identity, has the evidence of its existence that once contained me become hard to remember
soiled by the pain, that so faithlessly became the reason my wings that so innocently protected we have broken
you were the thought that gripped me
beyond the belief of His existence i once thought that the soil from which you were made i was birthed
your rich splendor, the blessing which would vacate my weaknesses
and as the lilies in the pond settled on the surface of which they lay
the memory of you lies forgotten drowning in the lake.
