Francis Mceachern Poem
Welcome forth the Eastern Wind,
As skyward bruising eases in
The Tears of Nature testify
Her vexation and her sorrow.
Due to Mankind’s destructive hands
Nature’s cancerous wilting spreads,
With populous greed and new demands,
Her corpse’s decay is brewing.
Shifting, Nature grows estranged
With no compassion; Engulfed in rage.
She thunders down with poison breath
And now we plead for pity.
We did not become more circumspect
Our hamartia is of the absence of regret
Our mindless eyes, endlessly obtuse
Hang us loosely now in Nature’s Noose.
