Right Person, Wrong Time

Right person,
Wrong time
Holding to this moment
Forever intertwined
The perfect fit
My hand in yours
We have this moment
But we can't have more
Our time is short
So savor the now
No room for words
Just silent vows...

Our eyes are locked
He holds my stare
So secure and safe
An answered prayer
Soft touch, smooth skin
Poetic on its own
Like a movie scene
Perfect in its sweetness
Content if I could add
This is all I'd need
If today was all we had

Every dimension
Stained in my mind
I see your heart
You feel my smile
Your thoughts are mine
Both souls refined

Maybe in another life
We will find our way
This one I'll spend
In reminisce of today
I'll look back with gratitude
As you've changed me in ways
And everyday
I'll say your name when I
pray
In a different timeline
Our story will transcend
But in this life
Our story has to end.

Hold Me For a Moment

You held me for a moment
For just a moment it would seem
It seems like forever ago
Although I could never remember
Remember those warm-filled months
Between March and November
November was the end
The end and a new beginning
Beginning of a new season
A season such as Spring
As Spring would bring new life into the world
A world with unreasonable sin
A sin as lifeless as Autumn
(Autumn to some called Fall)
Fall, when he would fall
A fallen angel,
An angel gained
Or gaining a loss?
The loss of a day,
The loss of a life
A life that would end as the day turns to night
The night always dark
The dark calls for closed eyes
Eyes that await the promise of a sunrise
And so the sun would rise
But some still remain asleep
A deep sleep they will not wake
Wake me up from this dream
Dreams of an untold story
A story was cut short
Shortness of a heartbeat
A heart with no beat
Better count your blessings
Blessed life-long lessons
Not to lessen the longing
But I still belong to him
He smiles upon me all day all night
The night, I am used to days without light
A light grip, a solid hold
Hold me so that I don't fear no end
End this yearning, hold me for a moment again

One Day

One day I'll be gone
And it will be surreal at first
And you may question much
But you get to choose which is worse

You will remember all of our talks
I will help you recall
And our memories may cause you to tear
But I pray they never cause you to fall

One day I'll be in a different world
A new experience to discover
At the same time I'll be by your side
But we won't physically interact with one another

And I'll be sad to see you sad
So I hope you find only the joy
In the journey we shared together
Where I'd make you laugh and feel annoyed

One day you will question this world
And think that life is too short
But don't let the grief get to you my warrior
This is your battle to be fought

I am proud of your growth
You are doing so well but can't see
How much you have evolved as a person
And how strong and centered you can be

One day you'll look at stars
And wonder if I'm somewhere in between
But I'll be right there smiling upon you
But my smile will be unseen

Just know that I am with you
I'll play songs to help remind
And be open to trusting that it's me
In the little signs that you find

Have faith in the dreams that you have dear one
It is not your imagination
I'm simply trying to speak to you
Through my form of communication

One day we will be reunited
Only once your mission is complete
So laugh everyday and find reasons to smile
Until the next time we meet

In the Land of Light

When I tell you that I love you
I mean it like NO other

It does not come from my mind
nor my heart

But from deep within my soul

I love you with the innocence
of an infant and the playfulness
of a child
Like the daydream of a
teenager and the content in a
woman's smile

It's a love that grows within me
every time I meet your gaze
A love that embraces and binds
me in so many different ways

A love that sparkles on the
river like the sun could only get
brighter
As breathtaking as the
waterfalls which make
discomforts lighter

A love that has the power to
make the forests much more
greener
That illuminates the ocean and
makes all melodies sound
sweeter

A love that views the night sky
more magical than it seems
That allows me to fall asleep and
have the most enchanting
dreams

A love that puts me at ease
and gives me peace of mind
It encompasses all of my
beliefs and strengthens my bond
to the Divine

This love in its entirety was not
even portrayed above
As there is no earthly way to
even begin to describe my love

I cannot say that I will love you
forever, as that is a time to
measure

In the place that I truly love
you, time does not exist

It is in the land of light where
only this love subsists

Lagging

We got this home as is
It came with the waves, the forests,
waterfalls, sand dunes, the ice.
We claimed it,
Without thinking twice
We have conquered the land
The sea, the air
We have astounding devices
That your voice can travel through
Your face can travel through
And given a few hours
We could be on the other side of the world
If we choose
We have holograms
For entertainment
And it’s growing
Because we’ve planned it
And our art is amongst the
Most aesthetic of all the planets
We are extremely creative
With emotions which overwhelm
And we’re one of the most innovative species
On this side of the realm

But we are hungry.
Some are hungry for food
Yet we’ve cultivated enough for all
Some are hungry for love
But that’s what they’re made from
Others are hungry for money
For power
Hungry for war
For all things that
Cannot cross the veil with them
And constantly hungry for more,
Sad that this is the world
That we are occupying right now
That war still exists and needs to be
Materialistically
Profitable somehow
I
Me
Mine
Myself
Egotism laced with vanity
How are we so far ahead
In technology
But so far behind
In humanity

And Maybe, Just Maybe

I’m scared you’d make me happy
that you’d make me smile at the thought.
That when I’m around you, you’d make me laugh
so hard that I’d forget all that’s wrong with the world.
That maybe, just maybe you love to see me joyful
you love to see me carefree

That maybe you want to run alongside me
Run through meadows and under the full moon
And take my hand because it’s cold and yours is warm
That maybe my monumental expectations intrigues you
And you are up for the challenge

I’m scared that I’d get addicted to your persona
That it’s as ambitious, playful and sincere as the day is young.
That maybe my path and yours have overlapped in this moment
And that maybe the entire universe foresaw and
conspired for our energies to collide

That somehow you’d begin my sentences
And educate me in esoteric ways
That perhaps it’s okay for the sky and the earth
to kiss one another
and have gratitude fill each night, each day

That in this matrix, you look at me
You read me, you see me
You know my soul
You know my truth

And maybe
Just maybe

It melts

You

Under the Stars

Red beams and blue lights

Swinging in plain sight

Lips dripping lime sipping

Tastes of warmth on a cold night

Humidity is a breeze

Freezing with a knot

The air is hot

Thoughts are dark

Heavenly scents

Ripped apart

White noise

Smoothly scratched

Bit by bit

Scars are matched

Smoke so thick

Smoke so close

Tearing down

Black pantyhose

Bright eyes blue lashes

Skin so soft

Peeling ashes

Animal instincts

Vanilla to the core

Sharpen the arrows

Levelling the score

Aim with precision

Aim with effect

Lower the laws

Of cause and effect

Quaking tremors

Muscular shakes

Under the stars

Lying awake

Madiba's Candle, Always Alight - Tribute To Nelson Mandela

Today the sun rose
Over a doleful earth
Our hero, uTata Madiba,
Whose life has given us worth,
Has now set sail
For a realm beyond our reach
And now imprinted in mind
His every word and belief

A soul that cared
So deeply for humanity
Whose humility would dismiss
All traces of vanity
He strongly loved
Every being of every race
And fought for his land
With sincerity and grace

We thank you for the faith
For the freedom you instilled
For 95 years of dedication,
A life mission fulfilled
So rest dear one
And let your spirit soar
And my we embrace your ideals
More conscientious than before

Today we light a candle
To unite the flame you've sparked
May you easily find your way
On this new journey that you embark
May we all adapt your vision
And view a stone as a precious pearl
And may your name live on for lifetimes
As the man who changed the world

Those Dark Eyes

Those dark eyes on me
Like a candle-wax scraper

Cut me with your love
Then graze me with affection
Dip me in your world
Of damaged imperfection
Addicted to those dark eyes
Suspense of a frozen look
Soft feelings on my back
Before the thrust of a rusted hook

Ah but I like those dark eyes
And the uneasiness I feel
When I hold onto broken glass
You rest my head down on the steel
Addicted to the prick
Contamination that surrounds me
Rip my skin off piece by piece
At peace every time you drown me

Scabs feeling coarse
I like it like sand paper
Those dark eyes on me
Like a candle-wax scraper

You Take Me Back

You take me back to a time
A time when I ran alongside the wind
And felt my hair caress my cheeks and my skin
A time when life was so joyous and bright
That if I had just one wish
I’d go back to those nights

You take me back to that feeling
Of undeniable joy
And not a trace of hesitation
Or thoughts of desperation
But only a spark and a light
Of the highest vibration

You take me back to the wander
And curiosity I had back then
When everything was magic
And we had no limits or boundaries
Just dreams and passion
Of how we’d reach them

You take me back to the colourful days
When the road was not long enough
And replying songs made the way
More fruitful, and conversation was
Deep and thoughts so beautiful

You take me back to that laughter
Where my stomach would cramp
And my eyes would tear
All those memories we made
Would mesmerized me
And just like that
You just take me back
