Ofw - Overseas Filipino Workers

Oh If Double You
What can you do?
Your salary is coming
Time to pay the due

You're away from home
In a country not your own
Sacrifices are done
Just to take money home

Your hard earned money
Is a sweet jar of honey
Made kins so happy
Leaving you almost empty

Then they call you a hero
But the help is almost zero
Better go back to your barrio
And plant corn and potato.

When Morning Comes

Chill in the morning
As the sun glimmer softly
After a mountain

Cool breeze whispers hushed
Aroma sizzles from cup
Of roasted fine beans

Dew trickles from top
Dousing planks spewing earth scent
Thumping, thumping feet

Birds seamed melody
Waking colors of nature
Thought, silence whispered

Going Keto

just saw myself in the mirror
after feasting a box of pizza
cannot stand the sight of horror
and realized 'twas a bad idea

the main goal is to get lean
have my ass busy and active
but i'm lazy af to go clean
i guess its fate to get massive

got advised to get balanced diet
to lessen on sugar and carb
but the cravings are hard to quite
even giving up rice for lard

so this is what they called keto
gobbling more on fats and grease
less on meat, rice and potato
and more on veggies and cheese

some of you might get irked
but i need options and hope
please advise will this work
before i eat up this whole loaf

Echo

Words in the valley
Flies like an agile osprey
Grasping my senses

Words became thicker
A leaf falls as trees shudder
Easing my numbness

Calls from the deep end
Caused words to scramble and bend
Devoured by darkness

Reflection

A glimpse of you
Is like deja vu
At the passenger terminal
Along a busy queue

You looked at me
I returned a smile
As the time stopped
In long stretched aisle

Crowded as it seems
The line slowly goes
Every moment you glanced
I wonder and froze

This started a confusion
That raised my suspicion
Then I just realized
It's just my reflection

Silence

Stirring my coffee
Staring right in front of me
Thoughts flies like echoes
Reverberating the past
Silence whispered... I'm alive.

Right Direction

Something has changed
That happened too fast
Something did came
Time's blown into dust

Maybe it's magic
Or sorcery perhaps
It does defies logic
And it takes time to last

I know it wasn't a dream
As it was crystal clear
So surreal it may seem
So intense I cannot bear

Maybe time has the clue
To reveal this affection
As love made for two
I know it's the right direction.

The Shine

The sun shines once more
In the midst of this downpour
Thought I was getting used to
Be forayed in this crusade
Till that warmth touches my soul

A Night At a Countryside

As the moonlight shone over the mountains
The stars starts to flicker one by one
Humming winds eases the roughness
From the day's unforgiving sun.

Chilling wind caresses the darkness
Serenading them softly and low
Night critters goes out to mingle
Under the moon's mesmerizing glow.

The calm river chimes in its flowing
Flickering waves illumes the riverside
The chilling winds keeps on pushing
Quenching the thirst of the countryside.

As the sun lifts the shroud covering
Of mountain tops to the grass of the plains
Leaves and flowers bow to dew drops falling
As the sun kisses them once again.

Thy Name

Murmurs in the wind
Like those echoes from within
Whispering thy name
Like a song hummed by cherubs
Serenading my lost soul.
