Pieces of Me

Each person you meet in this life,
takes a piece of you you can never get back,
you struggle to find who you are,
while investing in others,
to form what could be a great life,
and yet,
we hesitate,
we yearn for a belonging,
we search for a completion from others,
as we take a piece of them with us as well,
each piece is a chip off the old block,
we chip away at each other with no known reason,
but to build a whole from shards of broken hearts,
we pick and pick and pick,
and to lose yourself piece by piece,
is just life's journey,
towards whatever comes next.
to put yourself back together...

Time Flies

They say time flies when you're having fun,
but time goes by slowly,
when the quiet fills the emptiness,
flashes of the past,
flashes of the future,
we take time for granted,
we waste time complaining,
we use our time for trivial things,
capturing moments are harder and harder as we grow older,
we all have our paths to create,
while still trying to intersect with others,
sometimes it's as if we can live forever,
by holding on to time in a bottle,
but we are just fooling ourselves,
trying to trick father time to give us more,
cause we are a glutton for punishment,
but truth is,
we are all afraid of our own mortality...

The Winter

The soft wind blows
as the falling of each little snow flake
makes its way to the ground.
An unknown future lays ahead,
not knowing what the next step will take them,
water flows through the cracks in the street
to take them to a journey that could last a lifetime,
or end in a instant.
Something that is out of their control.
Life starts with one flake
and can grow into an entire mound of snow
to fill the hearts of children with joy,
or can make one man able to work and support his family,
either way,
one snow flake has so much to live up to,
and to be able to fulfill that destiny, only god will know.

Travels of a Lonely Man

The road ahead of me I cannot see,
for it is there that I shall go and find my solace.
Alone I walk against this beaten trail that has yet to be finished,
My feet dig deeper into the ground as the trail I blazed dies out,
no room for error but yet mistakes are my shadow that walk with me,
A burden upon humanity I feel, but yet I walk down this road with determination to find my place in time,
no hope for salvation, for I am a forgotten man that walks this road, a lonely road for me...

Into the Good Night

I see your face
whenever I close my eyes
and yet
I still can't come to terms with the fact
that you're no longer here.
The sun shines no more,
just clouds to hide the tears.
The faint sound of your voice
still exists deep in my heart.
I will take you with me
wherever I go in this world,
in hopes that some day
we will be together again.
My heart does not break
for you were my heart.
My life, my love, my everything
a distant memory of what was.
Now I am alone
in a world of pain without you.
Nothing seems right anymore....
