Farewell

the sun breaks its light
slowly devoured by night
it pierces my heart

The Soliloquy of Mother Earth

the bird sings softly
the leaves dance so gracefully
becomes forever dream

A Billet-Doux

After a year of working in foreign land, Marilyn the eldest daughter wrote to her family about her situation and job. And most especially to express her true feeling to her family.
Dear Mama,

On the time that I left you
I cannot control the tears
Flowing in my eyes
I couldn't see you directly
And it continues to flow
When you said that time
"I will miss you"

Albeit I do not want to leave you
but my feet forcing me to go
because of our dilapidated house,
slanting post, to have something
to eat at least three times a day
and most especially to give
all your needs and wants in life

That's why I'm working hard
scrubbing the floor, cooking,
caring the children and doing
all the household chores
It seems I am a carabao
that almost no more sweat will fall.

In the evening I tried to dance
In the middle of the smokey bar
With the twinkling sundry of lights
Touching my legs and breast
Just to allure the customer
In order for me to earn.

You know one time Mama
I forgot to wipe the table
And when my Boss noticed it
He shouted angrily and he said
"You're such a b*st*rd"
I've just smiled at him 'coz
I don't know what he meant
Especially there is no dictionary here.

But you have nothing to worry
With me my beloved Mama
I bought your favorite make-up kit,
Spaghetti dress and high heels
To my Papa, I bought him
a very expensive liquor and cigarettes
to baby I have also a toy gun
and two boxes of Toblerone and Hersheys
to my Lola and Lolo, to my Ate and Kuya
I have also a gift for them.

I am doing this just for all of you
In order for us to eat three times a day
To give all your wants and needs in life
And most especially to show to
All of you how much I love you
That I am ready to give my life
And to suffer for you
Mama "If you just only knew
How much I love you."

With Love And Care,
Marilyn

Happiness

I find myself at the nook
of intense melancholy
I feel as if I am lost
in the ocean of my journey

Searching for the meaning
and happiness in life
looking for the best place
and person that will make
my life so bright

Restlessness and unhappiness
was only I've got, discontentment
and unfathomable fire of cravings are
the feelings that my soul sings
until I finally discovered
that happiness is never
in the place, thing and
person around us
but only a disposition
and humble decission
within our being and soul

Autumn

Looking, staring and panting
at the leaves while falling
in the blew of the wind
the leaves find itself reacting
as if trembling in fear
as it reaches the quicksand
of lamenting and forgetting

Slowly kissed the deserted land
By the leaves in motionless clad
Now it waits for time to step on
And forever left at the nook of oblivion

This is the most hardest moment
That my days wrapped in torment
To journey without you in my side
Is a total burden and poision of my life

Like the leaves that gently fall
I am still a being who is hopeful
as the innocent morning breaks
I could see a new life and flower
in the midst of autumn and fall
in order to clothe my heart and soul

Have Faith

When everything crumbles down
never loose hope and fall down

When your world become hazy
and you falter on your way
never give up and turn away

When you feel you are groping
in the midst of darkness and loneliness
that devours you to nothingness
Be strong and continue to hold on

Always remember that in this journey
the greatest winning in life is simply
rising everytime you fall
And that God is always ready
to raise you up again
what you only need to do is
to have courage have faith

The Stranger I Love

I wander in your love
and wonder whether I'm loved
Your words are like thunder
with a sound so deafening
I couldn't truly decipher
Like a rain that drown me
To the flood of nowhere

Your embrace is cold as cadaver
Your caress is like an insensitive zombie
Your heartbeat is coated with lethargy
like a sleeping lifeless mummy

At the back of my innocent mind
A mysterious thought haunts me
Whether you love me for what I have
And never for who and what I am
Fear voraciously devouring me
Trembling that one day I will wake up
And see you as a total stranger to me.
