Weston Gregory Poem
Every one’s got an opinion
We are entitled to our views
But, we won’t all agree the
Difference often times are
Huge
Somehow the simpler the
Problem harder the
Moot
Layering instead of issues
Open wounds
And personalized attacks
Are used
A point of contention is
The deliberate disguising of
The truth
Distorting facts
Figures assembled by rote
Really there are a lot to be
Desired
Having regards to the distance
Between what had first prompt
The opinion
And the reasoning that led
To this irrational tirade and suit
A stuck in a bog like situation
Ensue
Like the dreaded dream state
Being awake and can’t speak
Move or do what you want to
While the root rot
The debates rambles on
Unable to; save quip,
Get a grip on solid ground
Consensus pursuit

Weston Gregory Poem
A Kite by Weston Gregory
Gamed and played, swift to flight
a kite outbound disengaged from
gravity's might
A laughter of sort at least a smile
that by and by we can untangle
humanity's plight
By swish and swirl and crazy hoops
a kite lighten burden inspires hope on
journey not new
yet, ever changing when life's wind blew
until all's but distant sight, held by cords
and glue
Above horizon daunting for me and you
but, a cinch for a kite with faith inbrued
a chime to dance the rhythm which
nature taught true....

Great Earth
Earth great earth
taut gravity source
A welcome sight of star
thrust return.
Mist shroud world
kind to those nature borne
Layered in protective
season
The equator exotic
splendor
Sought mostly
as a sort of Eden
Tropical terrain of water and
ore rich resources
immerse in humanities
advances
Well worth its place
cosmically arranged
A beacon of life
This rock is amazing.....

Weston Gregory Poem
Crime Against Humanity
Violence's the human disposition
of last resort
Check the talk, skew the walk,
in the court of popular, Christ wasn't
soft
Lunge at his daughters killer, man
tries to soothe his heart
Of senseless violence, the mass
destruction that is so off
Unhinged sensation in the minds
of feeble men
Lack justification for wantonly
killing our fellow human
Tales of past exploit regale history
And taught in class
The next monster seeps,
already the tear of the family sear deep
Justice they seek
but, the wheel of repeat has dug
its teeth
and save except a monumental
effort to retrace our step
that bright light of progress will
be bloodied humanity crimes
regret.

Inspire by Weston Gregory
When the sun comes from the east
Shining its beauty through the
leaves,
I'm so inspired by what I see.
Its way though not easy to say
I sigh when the rare jasmine bloom.
I smile at the monarch butterfly
choreograph loops,
and laugh in this lazy afternoon
I all but spy its spectrum hue
and am left mesmerize by its hovering
on the west bound horizon too,
Jamaica is haunted by a spectre of
gloom,
on its fading from sight on Negril west end
soon
As if wishing on a dream
Within the swirl of unsynchronized scenes
our nature predicts tomorrow
Whether serendipitous or nightmarish
horror.
Response well to a global hallow
a prayer;
Goodnight my blossom see you in the morning,
When the sun comes from the east
Shining its beauty through leaves.....

Weston Gregory Poem
Politicians are the most pretentious
to emerge from the primordial mulch
of creation.
They pretend to love,
they pretend to care,
In the case of them doing any deal
remotely benefiting constituents
is on condition they profit in prestige,
wealth and a seat, a boardroom chair.
They hug an old lady its a photo opp
They kiss a baby its a god damn video shot,
Even though the homeless is festering,
lacking in compassion, bolstering they bray,
But miss the point that businesses has
reneged on paying a livable wage
The politicians are one piece of work,
weird that they represent the rich and
well to do,
and to you, dem stuff dem chest with
ashes while exiting poverty,
they knew which way the wind blew
Well, money pour to the centre augmented
by a guard of honor rough beast of men,
though shroud now, don't be surprise when
you find its the politicians.

Weston Gregory Poem
Phoenix the dawg
There in my yard is a dawg name
phoenix
One stubborn black bitch
Easily identified by her signature hind
limp
Now, is not that she's without redeeming qualities
But that dawg no matter how you call har
she seems hard of hearing
While it well known that's a choice she is making
Cause the merest sound har ear perk,
she jump up and start barking
Phoenix the real mix I love to say
But jah know, dis dawg personify
the adjective play
I leave her sometimes under a mango
tree loosely chain
Where her kennel is to cover her when
it rain
A piece of work she is even when she is
on rein
Cause har mouth nuh cry quit, she get wey under mi van already and bite the wiring to
total disarray
Yet, phoenix is a unique dawg,
black as midnight with a face like a
happy smile....wg

Weston Gregory Poem
Love in Marriage
For this reason, love precious joy
is shared, expressed;
that within the confine of marriage
its significance, are memories
though sometime small
hold the most potent experience.
Marrraige is a give and take
love is a give all you can take
marriage is equal estate,
love gift offering keeps you
fill while never sate.
For satisfaction, love though
is not lacking in conviction,
marriage on the other hand
is truly the best one,
offering completion one to
another to safe guard our
institutions.
From seeing its growth,
feeling its unadulterated dose,
love in marriage truly make for
the best strokes.
of importance, not to be side tracked
are the loveliness of our children
when mom and dad tie the knot.
A bond of inclusiveness
A bond resolved on two people
promise to share in matrimony
love for all eternity.

Weston Gregory Poem
My Friend by Weston Gregory
I'm glad you are my friend
And you are interesting
There’re no dull moments
And we can share what each
Other thinking,
Though its been tested of a fact
But we're invested in what we've got
We fought tooth and nail to remain
At that and nothing going to change
That as friend first we attached.
I'm better for deciding not to stay alone
You heal my broken heart
With you is my home
Amongst its value this love has help
Me to grow
And deal with the issues as they come
And they go
Though mistakes we are prone to make
And bitter words are some times said
We forgive. We forgive. We forgive
We forgive. We forgive. We forgive
We forgive
And like water under the bridge
Those complex emotion simple love finally singe
Leading the way a stronger friend still

Pearl in sand of marble
by
Weston Gregory
Its her eyes, its her smile,
she's a wonderful girl all
the while.
There's no doubt where ever
she goes every man wants a bly;
One set waits on the corner and
whistle when she's passing by
one's bold and step up to her
to tell her hi.
She smiles, glints her eyes
and tell them bye bye,
good nature'ly telling them
please don't try.
Where ever she goes she
stands out,
walking,
talking,
standing, she's a classy lady
that's why
She's a pearl in sand of marbles
she's the season, modestly showing
she's stable'
An essence of fragrant petal,
her charm is no fable.
