Sandra Wilson Poem
It was due to learnt behavior
from generation to generation
trust me that did not come from our
LORD and SAVIOUR
hate prejudice a will to kill
another human being
doing this at will
all you see is color
not someone as part of the human race
we are all here
by GODs peace mercy and grace
shake the devil off
as fast as you can
divided we fall
united we can stand
reach out and touch someone
before it is all said and done
we will hold hands
singing the old Negro spiritual song
Free At Last
shedding the "I'm better than you" syndrome
you will not go wrong
feel compelled to help each other stay strong

Sandra Wilson Poem
A man was on his way home
to prepare for his daughters
graduation
he never made it
because of racial discrimination
walking down the road
with a heart beaming full of pride
for a child he sired
he could not wait
to open his arms wide
and loving hold her
telling her how proud of her he was
it never happened
BECAUSE
his body laid in pieces
along the road side
a joyous event
turned in to something
that induced many to cry
James remains were left in front
of an African American (black) cemetery
he went home to be with his LORD
let not your heart be troubled
work together to be on one accord

Sandra Wilson Poem
Created by the same loving Heavenly Father from up above
masterfully done so with HIS everlasting love
in HIS image we did come
into this world all not some
take a hand
if we fall
as we stand
be compassionate loving kind
because you know you can
being hateful and bitter will not get you anywhere
when your fellowman is down
do not keep them
let them know you are there
for them no matter what the whether
the imperative thing to do is
to pull together
raise your voice against racial discrimination
show you have regard for mankind
through a demonstration
we are the world
we are the children
kindness hope and love
is what we will be building

Sandra Wilson Poem
His son queried "Daddy why do white people treat colored people so bad"
having the right answers was stirring in his heart
motivating him to do his part
Daddy Why
trying not to picture those ominous clouds of inferiority
forming in his daughter's mental sky
as he told her she could not go to the park
she asked the question
Daddy Why
this is what he heard as he marched for the cause
of Peace and Brotherhood
Dr. King was cognizant of what he knew as the interelatedness
of communities everywhere
living in the solution was his plan
allowing himself to be oppressed
would have only caused him to feel less than a man
we are all created by the same
HEAVENLY FATHER up above
masterfully done so with HIS undying love

Sandra Wilson Poem
You've got that raise your hands
Kinda Love
do a HOLY GHOST dance
Kinda Love
praise your name
Kinda Love
love thy neighbor
Kinda Love
get my knees
Kinda Love
lift your name on high
Kinda Love
trusting in you
Kinda Love
leaning on you
Kinda Love
reading your word
Kinda Love
having faith in you
Kinda Love
I want it more and more
Kinda Love
peace grace and mercy
Kinda Love
everlasting never-ending undying
Kinda Love
LORD help me in the only way you know how
Kinda Love
HEAVENLY FATHER you've got that
I love you LORD
Kinda Love
from up above

Sandra Wilson Poem
Rose petals were stwern across the floor
a trail of them leading from the door
candles I lit all about the room
it was all to be desired
there was no place for gloom
an atmosphere of love waiting for the passion
that was bubbling inside of us
pressing to escape
we dance to our secret song
gracefully yet like children
inside of us we knew what was building
I looked at you
you looked at me
inevitably we knew what was meant to be
us in between the sheets
our bodies caressing one another
soaring to higher levels
step by step
we smelled rose petals

Sandra Wilson Poem
When the bricks were being thrown in the windows
when the cross were being burnt on the front lawn
when irate callers called in the middle of the night with threats ans racial slurs
she stood by her man
When Reverend King preached from the pulpit
when he gave speeches in front of crowds
when the sit-ins were demonstrated
when the police locked Dr. King in jail
she stood by her man
as the water sprayed form the water hose at full blast
during the speech "Free At Last"
conveying the message about the Promised Land
when her husband raised his hand
Coretta Scott stood by her man

Sandra Wilson Poem
Seventy-eight good years
when she went home many cried tears
of joy having left her mark in history
as a leader married to a leader
who believed in justice for all
after Dr. King passed on Coretta did what she could to cushion our fall
by being a woman who worked to make a nation whole
it was done with her heart mind soul
the klan deterred her not
this proven as time went by
through her dedication determination devotion her head held high
Mrs. King secured a legacy building her own
with her four children by her side
GOD our HEAVENLY FATHER welcomed her with arms opened wide
it was said "It's good to finally see her at peace"
believing this peace comes from above
on her tomb it ends with six words
"the greatest of these is love"

Sandra Wilson Poem
A man who felt that when he walk out the door
he walk alone and in the dark
inducing him to subject himself to something
that left him null and void
medicating his feelings
stealing his joy
traveling the road of that stuff called boy
rising above adversities
this beloved entertainer was able to see the light
he belted out an old sweet song
with all his might
Georgia forever on his mind
he shared the wealth
from a heart that was loving caring and kind
In March he received an apology
from the state that banned him
Ray was welcomed back to them
his family by his side
he was not alone
Georgia was on his mind
as he sang
an old sweet song
