Twas a Friday Night

Twas the night before Saturday, and so quiet in the house.
No friends, no family, not even a spouse.
Just me, and my TV, watching Two and a Half Men.
Eyes getting drowsy, almost a sleep when.
Outside there was a noise, that sprang me from my bed.
On the way to the window, on the dresser, I bumped my head.
I then stepped on a train, left by my son.
Who earlier was playing, having such fun.
After a few word, not of good choice.
That I tried to keep, at a low toned voice.
I looked out the window, and what did I see.
A burglar, in black, looking back at me.
I screamed so loud, us both I did scare.
He slipped off the roof, a sight that was rare.
When he hit the ground, he bounced to his feet.
To see such a funny sight, gave my night a real treat.
I laughed so hard, I started to cry.
I turned, as I wiped, the tear from my eye.
Forgetting about, the train on the floor.
I stepped on it, OH yes, again once more.
From the laughter, that filled me with such joy.
To the pain, from my sons little toy.
I tear-ed as I got back in my bed, a pain in my foot, and also in my head.
