Hlulani Rikhotso Poem
I am missing you
It is empty
Your space;
In my mornings;
Left vacant;
By your abrupt departure.
It is void
Your place;
In my afternoons;
Left bare;
By your sudden parting.
It is hollow
Your spot;
In my evenings;
Left blank;
By your rapid retreat.
Empty, void, hollow
My space, place, spot
Yearns for you
My mornings, afternoons, evenings
Are vacant, bare, blank
Without you
Your abrupt, sudden, rapid
Departure, parting, retreat
Has left a void in me.
I am missing you.

Hlulani Rikhotso Poem
Oh my first love!!
How i love thee
My heart cannot forget
Time cannot supress the memmories
I remember you as if it was yesterday
Oh that sweet smile
That melts my heart away
That tender look, that looks deep into my soul
and reaches into me and makes me feel safe
Oh my first love; I yearn for you
The friendship that we shared, the laughter
The easy with which we communicate
No amount of years of absence erase
Oh my first love
Ours was a love deeper than feelings
It was a friendship stronger than most trials
It was a bond of two souls
Oh my first love
How I love thee!!

Hlulani Rikhotso Poem
It seems so surreal
Just the other day plans were in place
Together our ship was sailing off
But just yesterday things changed
Trust so ever fragile
Ever hanging in the balance of faithfulness
Ever dependent on our actions
Like glass ever ready to crush
With one fall ever ready to break
Tricky to cushion the fall
Hard to prevent the breaking
Difficult to put back together once fallen
Scatters every where
The pieces to be picked;
Carefully; not to cut the fingers
A difficult task to piece together
I am lost at sea
Seeking direction to get back on our ship
To swim ashore and escape the wreck
My emotions are everywhere
The compass is broken
Are you strong enough for both of us?
Can you carry us through the wreck?
I am lost at sea
Our love can be found
But trust elude me
Are you strong enough to rebuild it?
Can you carry us through the current?
