A Lost Coin

A lost coin in the mist of the cloud
Thrown into the shadow of the crowds
Never to be found except in our heart
I lost a friend, a precious one indeed
The mother lost a son, a good son indeed
... The school lost a student, a brilliant one indeed
The sibling lost a brother, a kind one indeed
The nation lost a gift, one never to be replaced
The class, lost a mate, one that sooths our hearts
But Pensa lost a leader; a leader of the master’s flock
I would have written more, but I have to wipe my tears
I would have said more; but a quivering lip won’t allow me
I would have smiled, but a memory of friend won’t allow me
Except the Lord has comforted me
That he, my friend is comforted.

The Searching Heart

I look through the crystal waters
Running through the quiet woods
Walking along the shores
In search of the man from Galilee

I asked the wind, where it had driven him
I asked the storm, did you strike him
I asked the mad man, did you hurt him
I asked the centurion, have you killed him

None answered, but with a sigh they shunned me
I went to the caves, where he spent his nights
I went to the temple, where he taught
I went to the praetorium, where they judged him
I went to the Pharisee, to seek to see him but they said
He was the fee for the fees of the deeds of the seeds like the sand of the sea

I run after him as they pushed him through the streets
His mother and brethren were wallowing in tears
With few words, he comforted them
I followed with my mind, but now my heart yearns after him
The hands of men took him to Golgotha and
Finally I found him on the cross
And I knew it was for my sake he hanged

I left in tears, hearing tearings in the temple
I asked the disciple, where they laid him
I asked the guards, where they kept him
I asked the gardener, if he can show me
But the angel asked me, why seek him here

Where else, who else, and why ask, I said
But the voice that answered was still, small and peaceful
Like the voice of the shepherd, when he grazed us
He asked me, why I weep and comforted me
He said to me; you are free; you are saved; you are mine
Then together we worshipped as he disappeared in our eye
To where, some asked
In your hearts he answered
I found the dead Jesus, alive in my heart and he lives forever.

Letter To Ankobra

Letter from ANKOBRA - (28/03/17- Asiedu Michael)

I was a long meandering beautiful worm
Flowing along the beautiful evergreen swarms
Twisting and turning from the north east into the cape three
Many rejoiced in my beauty for my own sake
And a few more, for their grains sake
I was a delight to the herds and
Many a woman love my company for my calm
I was the beautiful river homed in Ghana

I was loved, cherished and protected
I was a life for many and a part of the live many sort
My food was delicious and my waters, refreshing
My way was the path of many, and my heart was the dwelling of nature
I was great, I was honored and I was nurtured
This was all the time I had many sincere citizens

Times have changed, people and their desires as well
Laws have changed, the makers and their enforcers as well
My friends have changed, their lust and desires as well
My life is no more, and my freshness is dead
My nakedness is opened to all, and my treasures expelled to strangers
My honor is mourned, and my beauty is tattered
My shame is pursued for shekels, and striped for the joy of their eyes

I am Ankobra, and I write to share my agony for what it may be worth
That my people have muzzled the ox that plough the land
Stop Galamsey Now. Let’s protect water bodies

A Letter To the Queen

Dreaming through the day in her hands
On the shores, awaiting her calming smiles
Ready to unveil the glowing light in eyes

On this day, a queen was born
... True to time; it was the month queens march
Here, in the city of light, she will reign as much
Yes, she is a queen, and a queen she will be to her match

A letter about the queen, the writer writes
Many that behold, admire her rosy fragrance
On top is how her beauty arrays in her skin
Among the many fair, she is fairer
Know her passion and Christ it will be
On this day, a beautiful bride she will be to her master Christ

Your lovely
Asiedu Michael
A.K.A one Mike

Remembering How It All Began

Awaiting the beauty of sun rise

In the redness of the dusk

Given to silence of the dawn

With thoughts breezing through my mind

Remembering, how it all began

How I rode on the streets of loneliness

Seeking a hand that would cover me

Thirsting for a heart that sooths my fears

Then your chamber became my abode

Remembering, how this love began

The Sorrow In Pleasure

It is a shame to have money and never enjoy it
It is disappointing to have power and never use it
It is pain to have people and never feel loved
It vanity to have the world and not its maker
It awful to be full, but never satisfied
It is pathetic to have men on your side but not God
It is terrible to have brooches and not know
It is troubling when we have been good to men but not God
It is meaningless to have life and not know who gave it
It is scary if all that is contained in your heart is blood
What is it then sorrow or pleasure?
Sorrow is sour but not always sorrowful
Sorrow in God makes you sore higher and higher
Pleasure is sweet but not always pleasurous
True pleasure is from the right hand of God the Father
So I conclude;
It is tragedy when you have God, but never acknowledge him
But the biggest tragedy is to die and God wants you to live

Driving Force

The wind blew and who blew it
The cloud moves and who pushed it
The waters flows and who drives it
The storms arose and who quickened it
The day departed and the night arrived
The sun vanished and the stars appeared
The rains ceased and the drought came
The plains soon becomes a desert
And the dry lands soon become a river
The child soon becomes a man
The living soon was gone
A little laughter, a little cry
A little cheer, a little mourn
Behind the shadow is the image
Behind the extreme darkness is the light
Behind the light is the Glory
And so is God behind all the affairs of men

What We Can Never Know

The wind blew, and we know not where it blows
The clouds gather and from whence it gathers, we don’t know
The sea flows and from whence it flows, we don’t know
A mysterious secret we cannot know
So shrouded are the beam that its light we cannot know
... Knowing to know the known known to him that knows
Why don’t we know and why can’t we know
Why don’t we understand and why can’t we not
Why don’t we see it coming, and why can’t we not
In the peace of the woods, the prey becomes meat
In the seat of the cloud, the waters wet us
In the midst of a crowded world, the unknown can still find us
In the below of the eyes, tears are seated
Waiting to roll off like a sliding rock
Why I lost my friend, I can’t know
Where he is going, it is to Him that knows
Whether we will meet again, I have to decide
When death shall come, I don’t want to know
But what I seek to know, is to know that He that knows, knows my name
Rest in peace my friend

I Know I Need You

DEEP SHALLOWS WITHIN THE HEART
WIND BLOWING NOWHERE
AND RIVER FLOWING INTO ENDLESS CHANNELS
ENGULFED IN THE PLEASURABLE DARKNESS OF DEBAUCHERY
AND HIDDEN FROM THE LIGHT OF THE HEAVENS
... ALL TOO SOON I KNOW I NEED YOU
EYES FULL OF TEARS, FOR THE EVIL IT HAS SEEN
HEART FULL OF SORROW, FOR THE SOUR IT HAS TASTED
MY LIFE FULL OF NOTHING, BECAUSE, FOR NOTHING, IT HAS LIVED
ALL TOO SOON I KNOW I NEED JESUS
HE IS NOTHING, BUT ALL I NEED

Miss You

like raging tides to the shore
sudden glooms of beams through the line
opening door I had close for in love
finally feeling like i never felt, but felt
all to realise how much i miss u
... i have really missed u my friend
