Love Will Stand

It takes time to fall in love;
It takes love to stand the time.
Through the changing times of life,
love changes the tides of time
and weather the storms of life.

Moments of joy and grieve may drift
in and out like sand on the seashore
but love is the solid rock on which
your marriage can anchor.

The whims and caprices of emotion
may usher clouds of fear and doubt
but loves shines through like the sun
and keep your hearts and minds together.

Even when your matrimonial boat drifts far
offshore in the middle of confusion, against
the tempest of misunderstanding and despair
trust love's compass to sail you back to the
shores of forgiveness and reconciliation.

We fall in love when self, stoops and love stands.
Let self remain fallen and always, love will stand.

Two Cries From the Same City

Seated on a colt, entered He the great city,
Divinity rides in simplicity.
The boisterous crowd cheered vigorously,
His triumphant entry as His foes watched furiously.
“Hosanna in the Highest!” They chanted in harmony
To His glory they recited the Messianic symphony:
“Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord!”

Ere the dust of His triumphant entry settle
His foes had scores with Him to settle.
Before Pilate’s He was brought,
His crucifixion they sought.
The madding crowd appealed Pilate’s absolution
with a vehement condemnation:
“Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”

His heart moved not for man’s heart He knew.
In the agony of the cross forgiveness for us He did renew:
“Father forgive them for they know not what they do”

Because He Came

He left His throne
to lit a globe darkness prone
He left His crown
To save a humanity in sin drown
Hallelujah to His name
because He came!

He made my sin His own
so I could His righteousness own
My iniquity washed by His purity
My ashes traded for His beauty
My life never would be the same
because He came!

Adversity

Adversity, no easy city.
The scorching sun envelops its vicinity,
penetrating its rich diversity.
Adversaries make up the city,
ruined by misery, ruled by insanity.
Its citizens are pulled to vanity
and has from antiquity dwelled in iniquity.

Adversity, a learning city,
The Son of Man did sojourn in its university
to read suffering in its intensity and extremity
and obtain obedience in its totality.
Adversity, mankind in its diversity
enroll in your university
to learn humility and forge integrity.

Adversity, no continuing city.
All who dwell therein long to leave the city,
never to return. They long for a better city,
an heavenly, wherein dwell no iniquity,
no misery, no insanity, no enmity.
They long for the city to dwell in infinity
away from adversity.
