L-O-V-E

Love is a four letter word,
A word that makes people act absurd,
A thing that we want,
A thing that we need,
A thing we always take with greed.

Love, that four letter word,
I cry out, but go unheard,
The thing I want most,
The word we search for, a ghost.

Love is a four letter word,
A word that causes hurt,
A word that causes pain,
A word searched for in vain.

Love, the four letter word,
You cannot grasp or hold,
A thing that may never be,
But you'll find it in Him who is in me.

Love, not just a four letter word,
It is something we all search for.

Hope For the Generation

It's so mundane,
To follow this world so insane.
The longevity of this generation,
So precocious yet filled with agitation.
No compassion.
Only compromise.
With subtle superficial lobbyist,
Enhancing their look of integrity.

If only someone could overcome their
adversity.
And fight the pretentious villains.
To spring spontaneity upon them.
And end their rancorous way.

One day all the disdain will wash away.
Intrepid novices,
Prudent with the ability of empathy.

While all of this is just a hypothesis,
I believe jubilation is in reach.

I think you should know,
One day I'll abbreviate this speech.

So Many

So many people I love.
So many people I've lost.
So many hurt
So many gone.

Bye bye for now, at least that's what I'm told, but it doesn't hurt any less when the people you love you no longer can hold.
Taken away to a better place.
See you soon!

So many people you've lost.
So many feelings inside.
Makes you wonder if it's okay to hide.
Just for a while. Away from sympathetic smiles. You'll be back soon. It'll be okay.

So many hurt.
Tongues don't know how to say the right things when their brain is pulled by so many strings.
Just go through the motions. You'll come back soon.

So many gone.
So many have left for that place and you're just here like 'see you soon, right?'
But you never know.
Where did they go? Where will I go?
But even still, so many here.

Maybe one day we'll see each other.
Hugs will be on the house.
Tears will stream, but different than before.
It once was an ocean of tears vast and never ending, but maybe with someone to help hug it out, it'll turn into a ocean with an ending.

So many to love,
So many to lose,
So many to heal,
So many to say bye to.

It's never over, but this is life.
So many four letter words that cause strife.
But for right now, the strife is all we see and when we get better (and have those free hugs we were promised) we'll see the joy they truly bring. We'll dance again, even sing. Maybe we'll be happy and smile up to heaven and say 'see you soon'.

Show the World Your Mad Skills

Everything wrong now,
Will be gone in a blink.
Even though things seem dark and bleak,
Just give out some smiles and a polite wink.
Don't just decide to take a life,
You're not the only one who deals with strife.

"No one will miss me when I am gone",
If that's what you think then you are wrong.
Come on, you can do let us be strong.
Don't make people start from zero.
Throw the pills out.
Be a hero.
This is your life, let's not waste it,
Life is short
Come now
Face it
Everything you see today
 didn't matter yesterday.

So when you feel down and out,
Just look to the sky and give a shout.
This is YOUR life
And it's what you do now that counts.

So put away the knife,
Get ready to live your life.
And put the gun down and throw out the pills.
It's time to show the world you're mad skills.

Rainbow Thoughts

When I see red,
I think of blood and the feeling of
dread.
When I see orange,
I think of fruit and the sound of a
squeaking door hinge.
When I see yellow,
I think of the man in the yellow hat.
When I see green,
I think of the smell of freshly cut
grass and the green blood that stains
socks.
When I see blue,
I feel clam and the feeling of
homeliness.
When I see purple,
I think of royals and wonder 'what is
a burble?'

How We Are-How He Is

We fall on our knees,
And make our pleas,
We get what we think we need,
Then leave Him be.

But when He calls us to be free,
We kick and we scream,
We think that we know,
that there are no answers to show,
And yet He shows,
We have more ways to grow.
We forget where we get life,
Consumed in our strife,
We forget who was there,
When our lives were spared.

That just goes to show,
How much he cares.

I Carry My Pail

I carry my pail,
With water to bail,
To the little creek.
With the water knee deep,
I hope not to fall into the creek.

With the rain from the hurricane,
It's had not to feel the pain.

People lost,
Homes gone,
It only seems right that they get a song.
To help with all that has taken place,
With the new troubles they must face.

The worse the damage,
The more you were meant for.
You're stronger than you think.

Get Out

Don't let your brain turn to slush,
Get your brain to mush!
Get out there and feel the rush.
Don't let yourself be locked down in your
home.
Get out there and be free to roam!
Go on.
Put down your phone.
Get up.
Get out.
Dance.
Shout.
Let people know what life's all about!
Let people see all that's meant to be.
If only you'd look up.
If only you could see.
Life is more when you let yourself free.

Sober Seventeen

It's a sobering thing,
When you find your life about to take
wing.
When you turn seventeen.
For right from the corner of your eye
you see,
That maybe your childhood didn't
turn out the way other people would
make it seem.
You want to stay.
You want to go back.
But know in your heart that you
couldn't handle that.
So here we are,
Not far from free,
Wanting to hide, to stay,
From all that could be.
Where do I go?
Do I hide from the day?
When I must go away?
To be me,
To be free,
Only to find that it wasn't all that it
was knocked up to be.
On the edge of sixteen.
Of the verge of seventeen.
Getting older.
Taking another breath,
I'll go with everything I have,
Even if that means until I have
nothing left.

Beware People

Beware the people who clench their fists
in rage, for they are the ones who set
the stage.
Beware the people silent and thoughtful
with a hint of need, for what they need
cannot be given. Only taken.
Beware the people who smile at your
back, for that is where they plan to
attack.
Beware the people who come in need
and take with much greed.
Beware those, most of all, who smile to
your face and hide in the dark without
trace. For they are the ones that put on
the best show. The ones that bend
farther, farther, and farther still. They
are the ones that are about to break.
And when they snap they lose it all, but
they never break. They're afraid to fall.
For who would catch something bent and
splintered? Who could break through
their wall? No one. Only they can reach
themselves. Only they can say 'I want to
leave this fake smile, this dark place.'
Only they.
So beware people, they are needy and
want to be loved. They want to be seen
as a friend, not foe. But who would want
to friend someone with a wall ten stories
tall? Who can reach that high?
