Goldrush

GOLDRUSH

After the gold rush,
The man now holds his cheek in his palm
Sitting on a stone near the building sand
Burning in the hot sun of this world.

Wishing he had another chance
But all is gone, he had it, he wasted it.
Money was falling like leaves, his was only to pick
Never saved he let it leak,
He was strong like an eagle’s beak
Could work seven days a week he wasn’t weak.
Now he regrets why this had to be
He tries to fid the solution in the drink
Deceived by the solace he thinks it brings.
Day and night he sings
Of lost glory and praising Imaginary kings.

Stress has eaten into him
Brought him sickness and fatigue
But this’s left of his greed.
Even though he had six stomachs to feed
His, his wife’s and four kids
He had to take the bid…….as he tries to climb,
These so unsteady steps of the social ladder.

I Wish I Knew

I remember on that night
When the time bomb went kaboom!
I wish we never did what we had to do
For i never knew it was a sign of doom.
Before we stuck to each other like glue
But recently it's like we've changed all the rules.
You take me for a broom
Whose work is to sweep for other brides, and you
The only man I love on the scene acting the groom.
Why did I ever allow your two scouts to go on
Exploring beyond my hair,
Down my neck,over the hills,
Vertically over my back to the higher mountains.
Reaching their destination the commander took over..........
It was to overwhelming I couldn't resist
But why then play the beast?
In your list placing me the least.
If only I had foreseen through this mist,
I wouldn't be living in this unforgiving world
Of saying I wish I knew.

Death Cry

DEATH CRY

When I die
Don’t bother to cry
If tears trickle freely just wipe them dry
All you’ll do is sigh
And tell youselves”just another life gone by”
For this life am living ain’t worth a housefly
I live it too sly
But its only cause I want it too high
Cant live it clean no mater how hard I try

Don’t decorate my gave with beautiful flowers
On it plant grass don’t make my coffin using glass or brass
I don’t want anything of class
All I am is trash
A life full of plush with a lot of cash
On me every gal has a crash

Today is crack and khat
Tomorrow its dope and coke
All this plus joining gangs
And I don’t fear their fangs
Every night all you hear are bangs
Kik! Kak! Kok! the sound of guns

Its in my system just cant delete it
I entered a world just can’t exit it
I walked in the dark and fell in a pit
I the society as I try to fit
Everyone has to bear the heat
And be on their feet ready to dance to the beat
To avoid a hit

She Never Listened

She Never Listened.

She used to live here once
but later took off to the streets
due to her ignorant youth
and thinking, that she could
beat the wisdom of the streets
with her shallow knowledge of
the countryside.
But who's at loss now?
She nowdays roams along the
same streets,
the wild streets she thought
she could tame with her
stunning beauty
and entertained.
She thought their smiles were
genuine ones
and their advances just as same
but Lo! she turns her head on
the lookout
only to meet the same smiley
chaps then,
who looked like clowns,
wearing stern looking faces
their smiles faded not even with
the faintest trace
as if to indirectly tell her, "You
no longer fit in our clique.Give us
a breather for once."
She heard but never heeded to
the words
of them who knew the tricky
ways of the city,
Suli said, hearing and not
listening does no benefit to your
system
and there's a swahili saying that
says 'Mtoto akililia wembe mpe'

Wonderland

WONDERLAND
Look up, high up
Beyond the sky.
Jump up
Step on the cloud
Look yonder.

See another world,
Sweeter than of a romance writer.
Don’t stare, it doesn’t scare
It’s rare how they fair,
See how they wear
Decent with minds bare.

All they share
One means pair.
Where memories get fonder
Bonds get stronger
Mightier than a fighter
The hair gets blonder
The moons glows brighter
Hearts grow tender
Thoughts get warmer
Distance more closer
Moods more lighter
Everyone most sober
As two squeeze tighter.

An African Morning

AN AFRICAN MORNING
Stretching and yawning
Me every dawning
The cock crowing
Dawn’s breaking
Sun rising.
Cows mowing wanting milking
Sheep bleating wanting grazing
The wind blowing
Cold biting
Trees swaying
Birds chirping.
Goats fighting
Hens scratching
Worms hiding
Shallow brooks flowing.
Fire blazing at the blacksmith’s hearth
Water boiling
I have to go milk.
Kids up and shouting
Jembe to the firm whistling
An African morning,
Never quiet never boring.

You Trashed My Love

YOU TRASHED MY LOVE
You taught my heart to hate
On missing out on our first date
And when I asked,
Innocently as a gent’ man does,
Walked out on me through that gate.
You claimed I wasn’t man enough
As if I was man and woman half.
Cash and love I had
And tenderness, gave through my hands
Always there as a helping hand
In good and the worst bad.
When you were sick in the ward
Wasn’t I the reason you were glad?
Warming your blood when sad,
Creating that beautiful smile on your face?
Forming that crescent on your lips
Shedding moonlight on our now lost love
Reviving the stars beneath those sky-blued gem eyes?
I knew not hate loomed in love
And love loomed in hate,
Only that fate
Dictated what to dominate.
In me hate is great,
I gave you my love to taste
You turned it to waste.

Swagger

U say that I ain't got no swag,
'Cause i cant stand and light a fag,
Cant from a stranger take a hug
Cant down a bottle of beer, even a mug,
Let me wear my rags,
While you floss in your clad,
Not that i cant afford that.
But i choose 2 live simple like a rat
And be meek like a cat.
I don't wanna drown in the dirt,
Or b punctured like that board of dart,
'Cause am ain't blind like a bat..
I can see how youths r disappearing-very fast.

Crossroaded

At the crossroads,
Where the north road,
Goes south to meet the one
From the east where it turns west.

In these old world
With wild paths the teen stood
Not knowing where to go
Helpless like a convict on a hangman's noose.

He couldn't go back north
Where he had come from,
The path was already blocked.
To the south where he was heading to,
It was quicksand,he chose it.
East or west was safe,
But he wasn't willing to choose either.
At the crossroads,the teen stood
His fate undecided by drugs.

At Dawn of Reality

AT DAWN OF REALITY
There wasn’t need a chase on foot,
Or cry over split milk,
Had to accept it wasn’t what I thought was fine silk,
Many a days I waited to have.
I had foreseen of this beautiful bee,
But underestimated its sting,
Was carried by the beauty of the wing
It really touched my being.
The beautiful flower scent so sweet
 I forgot, the thorns!
Had to bear pain of the prick,
I withdrew like a freak.
Locked my self behind the door,
And before key lock click,
I was down with drink
So silly.
All cause of them,
Am I going through this?
I feel like fleeing,
Damn! I ain’t willing
Don’t wanna hang down the ceiling.
You made me this, my heart so weak;
Destroyed my wish,
Outed me from water like a fish.
I beg not again,
It’s no wish but a decision
Never to unlock my heart again.
