Young Black Man

The everyday struggle of a young black man
Just the thought of being broke
Trying to get him to understand
If you don't work You don't eat
But these young black men in today's generation
have their own understandin about this dog eat dog world
And what it's like to survive in the streets

On the block with the nicks and the dimes
Like a 9 to 5
Saying they just trying to make ends meet
But when those ends don't meet
Than their mindset change
And turn to plan B
Now they scoping out the next man neighborhood
Than head back to the house just to plot a B&E
Hoping they don't get caught

But when they get caught
They sit alone in a cell
Looking at their reflection
as If they were looking at their own worst enemy
But nobody din't get you there but yourself
Young Black Man
You have to ask if need a little help
Young Black Man
Now you having dreams
Anticipating your freedom in that outside land

But when you get outside
You head back to the block to the trap house
To grab your fie and a pound
And head back out on the block
Talking bout you putting in overtime
Young Black Man

So it's no more 9 to 5
Now it's sunrise to sunrise
but when will you look over your life
And finally realize you could have did something better
Now you have a child on the way
Do you think they care if you work at mc D's , BK
Or sold water off the side of the palmetto
Just to get a buck
Young Black Man

You can be an entrepreneauer
Set forth and learn something new bruh
Instead of being subjected to the streets
And next thing we know we lose ya
Now you got your family and friends
Heading to the Flea
To get that R.I.P. placed upon theor black Tee
Forced to think about the old days and loved memories
Cause you see

"Back in the days
I was young and afraid
Like I was lost in a maze
A creature trapped in a cage
And I just wanna be free
Be FREE BE FREE!!!

So Its time we make a change...

I Prayed

last night I prayed for you
I prayed for yu
As if I was praying for me
That he guard you throughout your day
And protect you from the dangerous things
Cause this seem to be a crazy world we living in
And everybody livin so Dangerously

Even though they speak about change
So I'm just tryin to figure out what's the problem
But the problem is so clear to see
Like queen latifah in the line up of set it off
Its as if I was pointin out you and me

And by you and me
I mean us as people
Thinking we are goin to live these days of our lives
And die like Jennifer
To come back and make a second sequeal
Well I just believe John Legend sang it best
When he sang We're just ordinary people

But jus cause we're ordinary
Doesn't mean we can't set out to be extrordinary
And set our goal to a higher standard
So people last night I prayed for you

I prayed for his amazing grace
Cause I once was blind
But now I see
I pray he do the same for you
That he has done for me
I pray everyday he gives you strength
And that you grow stronger
Instead of weak and weiry
worryin about yesterday problems
when he gifted you with the present

We suppose to learn from our mistakes
Cause everyday is a new lesson
But we lost in the world like nemo
Not knowin we bout to miss out on another blessin
We would rather be flunting stuntin textin
Better known now a days as sexting
But put it all together we still steady messin... around

So last night I prayed for you
I prayed that as you go thru your trial and tribulation
You know they somebody out in the world
Sitting back thinking steady relating
To the problems you go thru on a day to day basis
The only advice I can give is sit back wait and be patient
Cause waiting on GODS gift
You know will be the greatest

Cause he won't give you more than you can handle
So those problems you have
Just know they are handled
And if you know somebody who was taken too soon
All we can do now is light a candle
And pray he still has room...

So last night I prayed for you
I prayed for you
As if I was prayin for me
That he guard you thoughout your day
And protect you from the dangerous things
Cause this seems to be a crazy world we livin in
And everybody living so dangerously...

GOD BLESS
