Memory

Distant but ever neighbouring,
Misplaced though ever familiar,
Distinct though somewhat vague,
Absent but always looming.
To define would be nothing but foolish,
For meanings, it shares many.
Burdens, forever rest upon its aching shoulders,
Of that of previous happenings,
In ones harried lifetime.
Others can hold contentment,
Grief and loss,
Friendship and loyalty.
Hushed secrets of the past,
Pending stories of the present,
And probable tales of the future.

A Rainbow

I made my way across the drunken pavement,
Glimpsing at the sun, which kindly offered a watery beam.
The sweet, earthy air filling my lungs,
As the weary clouds crawl aside to reveal,
Behind that translucent wall of wisp,
A stream of rich shade,
Stretching across the hazy blue canvas.
I pause, to admire this alluring marvel,
Blood flowing from an open wound,
That spectrum pumping rapidly from its side.
The pale golden glow,
Soaks into my skin,
And I watch as this great show draws nigh.
The pavement again sobers,
The clouds slink together,
And this masterpiece shrouds behind the curtain,
Gradually fading into nothingness.

Your Shared Embrace

Warm Embrace, I remember clear of such,
My body helpless at your touch,
You voiced three words into thine ear,
And courage shyed in veil of fear.

You rest a hand beneath my jaw,
As staring through your eyes, I saw,
A flame, strong lit, though burning near,
A stream, from sourced, a single tear.

Though fought, did I, and braved from light,
To shield raw truth in shadowed night.
My foolish heart did render cares,
With great valour, I'd forced to bare.

And when my mind, to real returned,
I'd ventured from the blaze unburned.
Though as our lips came forth and met,
My soul was tortured with regret.

Unfortunate, impared was one, my sight, a theif had taken,
And locked, within his fiendish thoughts, from trance, I'd not awaken.

Four years had flown, sweet memory formed,
Which time could tell, I was to mourn.
And morrow was, the dawn you aged,
The day this traitor's traits were shamed.
While thoughts of gift rare in one's head,
Then so of how we should been wed.

I went and bought a thing of gold,
To remind you, we weren't ever old.
Our lives together, a bud of rose,
Though path of guilt, of which you chose.
For as I made my way for home,
I conjured kingdoms, as one, we'd roam.
King or Queen, we neither were,
As warm embrace, you shared with her.

The Witness

Golden blood, strong and pure,
Seeping from fellow wooden hearts.
Emerald blades, tall and humble,
Beaded with silvery tears.
Weathered scarlet hoods, sorrowed and low,
Concealing unseen beauty.
For centuries it stands,
Its arms stretched wide,
For it cannot run, nor can it hide.
It sits to watch the seasons pass,
To witness life and death, alas.
Mother to the forest,
And all that roams.
Internal emotion blazes from the soul,
Though from within it is contained,
Behind those barky ribs.
Pity and shame,
Can only be felt,
For this silenced sage.
Seemingly immortality is possessed,
Though even this almighty will cease.

Lost At Sea

Drifting soundly, oh so lulled
Over pearl moonlit waters
Purpose views, beneath a cloud
This stray forever straying.
It seeks to find an answer lost
Within a deep so empty
To flee a place so rich in sin
And bathe in pool of justice plenty.
I stare beyond that silver seam
For time is ever lending
Waiting… just waiting
A wait forever pending.

Dedication To You

My understanding,
Of the value you are worth to me,
In reality, can never be quite justified.
For it is when,
You are of most value,
That I can begin to imagine how your significance stands between us.
Any young infant,
Being nurtured and raised,
Needs the support and guidance one like you provides.
No longer am I of that age however,
Though for me to be alive and well,
Have needed your flame,
Your staff,
And of course, your love,
To guide, support and care for me.

Crying Eyes

Those coffee wells, shading secrets
Softened by a troubled frown
Hollering the words that cannot be uttered
For this silence speaks the loudest sound.
To watch the mundane of life churn
With a bat of the eye and a bow of the head
An outlook is given, on sound perceived
Nobody fully understands
Of the ponderous thoughts
Coursing through her shadowed mind
Though on occasion
Those cues come rolling of that tongue
And we glimpse at the sight of secrecy.
With every year that slips
A vast seven plummet.
The hourglass tilts
Hollering the words that cannot be uttered
Silence in its glory thrives
To blaze fire in those crying eyes.

A Wandered Mind

Sprawled about the blanket spread
Minding the business of her own
Her mind led, far astray
By her thoughts, she is overthrown.
She dreams of a heaven
Beyond her meagre skill
Far-fetched from cold reality
Though reached from power of will.
For her it appears a lifetime
But to us a patient while
Stationed soundly at my feet
Though her head a ’wandered mile.
And itched along her rested neck
My hand so ever tender
Her head arose, so much confused
And query from my brain did render.

Melody Captures

Passion renders from sinews of my heart
Rhythm breathes heavily upon my cheeks
And scent, as distinct as peppermint surrounds
To me is as visible as my left palm.
The lyrics prey upon my soul
Devouring my dignity
Consuming my pride.
I fight for resistance
But this only empowers conquer.
I am bound
Forever within ropes of enticement
Of the hypnotic.
To this ruler, reign is all possessed
But hold upon me loosens
And I awake softly from this trance of thrill.

Sinned Earth

Earth enriched in sin
Bears the weight of those to blame
For upon this bloody scenes commence
As above, skies observe in shame.
And as these fall hard the ground
Pity alone is felt, for those ever resting
Though to steal a life, and yours be stolen
Is worth of only shame.
Death appears so clear and nigh
It is all this fortune fetches
And as I await my name for call
This I write, and this I wrote
For my death so clear and nigh.
