Rude, Drunken Pen

Bloody rude drunken pen has enjoyed a nib of ink or two, reminiscing on a few
Bad and ugly times, we both admit at times things were, a bit of a mess,
All kinds of intertwined, confused but along the way making some progress
On the grand masterpiece of all masterpieces – writing bliss
At first polite, we take in turns, to interject with collaborative words,
Until the air hits us hard, take a breath, where’s your etiquette, manners and respect,
My turn pen, I command, continue on to write, scribbling like an erratic bird’s nest.
Pen resists and spits its ink, a dirty blob from its nib…how rude
All smudged and slurred is a dribbling rambling of everything crude
Across the page leaking its ink, clearly from excessive drink
Dancing on thin ice, my drunken pen decides to try and entice
Inviting me to envelope, his muscular body with smooth fingers
Such fraternisation you drunken sleaze, how do you expect to please
The love of your life, giving you permission to write and express your ink with ease
Drunken pen is at a loss as reflects on his drunken state, its very late
Blubbering relaxed words across the page, deep within and obscure
Then I realise that my drunken pen is sometimes a little insecure
He has a way of making me melt when I think of his 50 shades of blue
Each drink of ink that fills his nib, that prints our words, that stains my skin
Is in every way the partnership of creative bliss and my perfect hue

Something Special

We don’t know something special until it’s gone
Even when it looks us straight in the eyes
A gift, an opportunity, a friend or even love
Hovering, ever present to the point of screaming
Oblivious, not seen, not realised now lost
Like a flick of a switch you suddenly realise
What could have been has just given up

Make - Believe

A character born from the words on the page
Absorbed into me, words released from their cage
Once spoken from the voice, the one that rings true
The connection is made, imagination shines through
Embrace the character you see, in your mind’s eye
Develop and make your own, as the weeks pass by
Taking centre stage, as one, but with parts of many
Character ghosts of my past, all wanting to be free
Therapeutic, full of glee, relief from conscious me
The real is submerged to make way for make- believe

Toilet Talk

What does one do when in the public loo,
Apart from the obvious one’s or two’s, well it’s true!
Walls decorated with an array of graffiti and words
Scribble, or jokes, tasteless, amusing or absurd
The mischief one gets up to, in a moment of quiet
Who would of thought to have a marker on hand
Ready for the opportunity to sign one’s tag
Tell me have you ever pondered the thought
Of having a wall of poetry, for the toilet door
Like a whiteboard, that you can clean with ease
Always ready for a new day, or week of ideas
Just imagine the mind’s workings in progress
Looking straight back at you when your mind is in idle
This is what happens when one is on the loo
Time on one’s hands to think things through!

How You Opened My Cover

You have no idea
How you opened my cover
You read me, understand me
You completely feel me
No one can have enough love
In all it's layers and forms
You inspire me everyday
Knowing how you know me
That all of me is yours to keep
I can be everything I want to be
Connected with you in my life

It's the deepness of your mind
How passionate you are inside
The generosity towards others
Your voice - a deep friend
Just one touch - my soul sings
My heart is a place to live
I love that you have the key
Lock your heart to mine within
It's yours - you have moved in
Eternally is just the beginning
Trust, Faith, Tears and Love

The Quandary of Dan

What a quandary Dan, you find yourself in
Choosing a membership fit for a PS king
Why mull over it to see what others think?
You know you love exploring the PS link
Reading and writing poetry everyday
It seems obvious that Premium is the way
One, two or even Life – Just do it, Go Life
Then you can get up to all kinds of strife
Absorb yourself completely, in all it gives
Post a new contest and have us as captives
Create an awesome blog and have us in fits
An attentive audience to your fun and wit
Poetry Soup community know you are clever
You know you want it, membership forever

Contagious

It’s joyous, warm, makes you feel good inside
Being the recipient of a genuine, contagious smile
Hitting you like a blast a display of happy emotion
It travels beyond the mouth, reaching to the eyes
You know when it's real because you hear it by sound
And you seek it out because you want to be found
By the travelling happy smile on a merry go round
A gift to be collected and treasured to the core
Because a warm loving smile can be hard to find

Soul Mate

A soul mate is not perfection of shallow attractions
But a love that many read about so unique and rare
Realness that is deep and sincere - a lasting bond
One not sugar coated or glowing with bright light
What a priviledge to know - it would be so profound
To share harmony, such balance - ying and yang
Fitting like a glove with fingers out stretched
Neither held back together encouraged to grow
It's like pen and paper and mind connecting words
Creating a union of mind, body and soul

Your Words From Within

If I reached deep in your soul
I would feel the poetry within
Your emotions and fantasies
All the desires you keep
Secrets buried deep

Your blood is the ink
Your breath is the life
Your heart is the feeling
Your mind defines
Together it's sublime

Awaken by whispers
My breathe tickling your ear
Like music so sweet
Feeling the weight
Of every word
Your words

If I whisper in your ear
Your poetry that I see
It's then you will know
What I already know
How you feel
Deep within

Time

Just hours each with sixty minutes
Each minute just sixty seconds
Time is ticking
Yet it feels like forever
So close but so far away
Wishing time to fast forward
Until the moment
You see me - I see you
This is when time will stop
Not a single second will tick
Nor a single minute move
Or the hour hand sway
Our moment
Will stand outside of time
A space that's just yours and mine
Not measured or timed
Free from the clock

It's in this moment
That memories are made
They have no timeline
Memories last forever
Like the moment I met you
And the moments you smiled
When I heard your voice
Joyful tremors travelled me inside
The moments of laughter
The glimpses of your eyes
Even every question - every thought
Are moments - treasures- for a lifetime

With every heartbeat, every breath
Every part of my body mind and soul
Waiting in anticpation
For the hours to go by
Minutes to pass
Seconds to tick, tick, tick
Then our moment begins
