Who We Are

Why must we live our lives
letting hatred lead the way?
Why can't well all just learn to
be friends?
Don't disregard others just
because they're not perfect.
Please respect us for who we
are.
We are the future.
We are the light.
We are the ones you tucked in
at night.
If you be who you truly are,
I promise you'll go far.
Who we are.
Who we are is what we want
to be.
We need to unite.
Protect what's right.
We have the tools.
We just need to know how to
use them.
We fight for our future.
We fight for our light.
We fight for everything we
believe is right.
Follow your heart.
Say something smart.
Reach out your hand.
Respect your fellow man.
It's not question of how,
It's a question of when?
We stand up for our freedom.
We stand up for our right.
We stand up for those who
need our sight.
If you be who you truly are,
I promise you'll go far.
Who we are.
Who we are is what we want
to be.
When will we stand,
And put up our hands?
When will we respect our fellow
man?
We need to have sight.
Follow the light.
And do something right.
If you be who you truly are,
I promise you'll go far.
Who we are.
Who we are.
Who we are is what we're
meant to be...

A Cherished Desire

Put me in the corner
See how long I stand
I will not be a mourner
I know I'm meant for
something grand

The stars above me
They speak to my soul
Shining with glee
Leading me to my goal

As I get confused in society's
values
I grasp onto the things that
feel true
Looking for a clue in all these
issues
The key to a meaningful world
view

I know I am but only one
person
Never can I be completely
perfect
But I refuse to worsen
Or to lose my self respect.

To reach the answer is not
easy
It takes a lot a scars and
bruises
At times it's a fair bit wheezy
I cannot fall back on excuses

With all the trials and
tribulations
I become more reasserted
A cherished desire of
aspirations
With sorrows being averted

I reach out to you my friend
Letting go of my petty woes
To help you grow and see you
ascend
It's how we must transpose

With You

There are places I want to
explore
There are things I want to do
Life's got me wanting more
I wish to see it all with you

The things we have yet to
create
To round up everyone in our
crew
Smiles and laughter from a
play date
Are things I look forward to
with you

To wake up early in the a.m.
And smell the morning dew
To stay up late past the p.m.
It all sounds better to me, with
you

To share my stories
And paint the sky blue
To make new memories
And share it all with you

To cast a line and catch the
that thrill
To ride the river and see that
view
To set up camp and hike that
hill
It all feels greater if I'm with
you

But none of this can happen
Unless you want this too
To take me with your passion
It's what I want to do with you

Now all I can do is wait
For the day when you pursue
I hope it's never too late
For the moment you want me
too

I Give You My Blessing

I give you my blessing.
No more reassessing.
What more can a girl do.
For a man who isn't true.
Your eyes are not locked to
mine. Constantly searching all
the time.
For someone else who fits your
rhyme. I will do what it takes.
Never will I pretend to be fake.
You know my truth.
All the way back to my youth.
If its not me who's worth a lot.
Then someone else must be
meant to fill this empty spot.
I'm glad that I met you.
This I know to be true.
My heart will always hold on.
But my mind says it's about
that time. That I end this
rhyme.
No more reassessing.
I give you my blessing.

A Dreams Paradox

In the midst of the night
I stir then awake
With cloudy visions in sight
I can still taste the crumb cake

A far fetched fantasy
Full of hopes and dreams
That my brain allows me to
see
With an endless amount of
themes

To fly the night sky
Soaring up and above
A true bliss body high
With a feeling that's hard to
speak of

I try to channel my thoughts
Let my heart lead the way
Through the masquerade of
plots
In their beautiful bewilderingly
array

All connected like a knot in
crochet
Are these sub realities in my
dreams
So remarkable in their display
That are fragile at the seams

Everlasting aren't these
moments
That take away my breath
A puzzling time of events
That keep me from my death

In here I search for the key
Lost within this paradox
For the door of true reality
A society values detox

Did I really just awake?
As I lay here in my bed.
Is this world around me all
fake?
Or am I still lost inside my
head?

Love's Wild Ride

Up and down,
side to side.
I wonder when you'll end this
ride.
Up and down and all around.
Is there another place where
true love can be found?
Is this real?
Or is this lust?
To know each other is a
constant must. We date and be
with the one's we see.
Searching for it in all oceans
and all seas.
I hope to know the me I can
be.
The one I know who's inside of
me.
I fall,
I cry,
I sometime lie.
Determined I am to try.
To learn the reasons why.
Life is beautiful on it's own,
to see how far we have grown.
Past to future,
I'm here to nurture.
Future to past.
I hope this last.
In the beauty of sight,
let it feel right.
Up and down and all around.
Let's stand united on the
ground.
Up and down.
Side to side.
I will never run nor will I hide.
One day I hope to enjoy the
ride.

A Stars Love Wish

Tonights the night.
The moon glows bright.
Stars shimmer in the velvet
blue above.
A sign of true love.
As waters run deep and birds
fly high.
I wish on the brightest star in
the sky.
For the right man to
love and be at my side.
Who would never dream to
push me aside.
Who's heart screams with
passion.
Who gives his
compassion.
I ask not for a ring but would
do anything to hear him sing.
Someone who sees me for me.
Who'll carve our initials in a
tree.
A man who will say the truth.
Perhaps a man I meet in my
youth.
A man that can love my
children as his own.
A man who wouldn't abuse his
place on the thrown.
A man who can love me until
the end.
A man who is always
my dearest friend.
This is my wish.
I wish on that star.
No matter the distance.
No matter how far.
I hope that it hears me and
grants me my par.
