Ronny Madonsela Poem
The sun kneels to kiss the
skyscrapers
The Darkness floats above like
clouds
And those homeless become
accidental campers
Setting their plastic beds on the
cold floors
These black concrete rivers
Flood with moving lights
And its banks are swarmed
With men who’s faces lulled
Locked in deep thought
As the night ages once more
Laddies emerge from the
Corners of the streets
Clothed with nothing but
desperation and despair
As they seek an audience with
men of matrimony,
They sway their hips fishing
them to their cause
Good night Pretoria, the city of
dreams.

Ronny Madonsela Poem
Have you ever cried?,
Felt your mind go loose
As you lose sanity.
The people around you
Slowly shrinking until
They vanish into thin air
Silence screaming in your ears
Then solitary you find yourself
Glimpses of you being normal
Pazzling your mind like a math
test.
An awkward silence after anther
You could berely tell who you
are.
Have you ever felt a pain so
deep?,
Your heart drowns in all the
misery.
Anger consumes you
Then followed by a tantrum
That could last a life time.
All the good memories
Have been reduced to one
sweet nightmare
Irradiating on what your life
should have been.

Ronny Madonsela Poem
I wish i could bake
a cake made of
joy, happiness and loughs
so everybody could
eat and be happy
I wish I could invent
a radio full of sounds
of peace so we listen,
And stop war, rage and anger
Sometimes I wish
we could focus on
our talents and abilities,
rather than our differences
And I wish we could all
encourage
and not discriminate
so that we all reach
our full potential
I wish
we could all live life
to the fullest

Ronny Madonsela Poem
I AM ALIVE!
Your mistake, my creation
In truth I am just speck
Flowering obliviously in your gut
Does that mean distraction?
My heart now beats
And I bear fits filled with my future
Waiting to be unleashed to the world unknown,
With my eyes wide shut
I imagine you to try and picture you
I hear you speak, I hear you laugh
Isn’t that the perfect lullaby?
My legs kick hard but you try to hide:
One night’s extravaganza
All under your T-shirt
Like it’s all in a day’s work
Don’t you want me mommy?
I am the gift you never asked for
But then life is to die for.
How I wish to write to Santa,
Have him deem my innocence
Before he awards me with my gift
I get life for Christmas?
Afford me the chance to be!
I am alive I breath through you.

Ronny Madonsela Poem
In dreams i kiss destiny full on
the lips
I hold her close as I gazed in
her star lit eyes
She murmurs sofly before she
lifts her hand
Her touch visits my face finally,
my heart races
Then she fades into the
whiteness reaching her palms
out for me.
To be continued...

Ronny Madonsela Poem
Tomorrow where are you ?
I am a child of mzansi,
A child of a nation raised by a struggle of apartheid, as I emerge as a wound
Meant to glister, advertising the anguish of my fore fathers
Raised to cease all the nation’s bounty in their name,
As their pain can still be felt through the cracked township tar roads.
I am the promised future,
Born of tireless protests, teargas and blood
Blood washed clean of the judgments of my skin colour
And left to germinate on this waste land called poverty
As mothers fertilise this land one clean toilet at a time.
I am the repressed grievance of the people,
Who’s voice never transcended beyond the ballot paper
Trapped in a subliminal blackmail of before 1994
And feed grand promises of a better tomorrow
As two decades waste way I still ask “Tomorrow, where are you?”

Ronny Madonsela Poem
Throw it over the second floor
Or better yet bathe it
Since it never seem to.
Kicking doesn’t help
Or talking either
Everybody just thinks me crazy.
I’ve thought of starving it
No paper, No work
We’ll see who’s smiling now.
Oh wait for a sec,
Do printers eat Ink or paper?
This machine irks me
So before I kill it
I wonder,
How much jail time
Do I have to do
For killing one Stupid Printer?

Ronny Madonsela Poem
A real african women
I was but a boy
Bewildered by her beauty
This love deemed sickly
By those other men
Her eyes saw nothing but my
soul
And in there dwelled a man
Trapped as a child
I enslaved by time
That i could never fold
The illusion of love slipping from
my fingers
That we couldn't be lovers
Drowns me to no end
As all I am now is a friend
Inlove with a mirage of you.

Ronny Madonsela Poem
Flaming shperiods descend
As the clouds swirl frenziedly
Uprooting erections
The seas withdraw then rise
To swallow the earth
As death enters
The grounds depart
To sail the seas
As ember paints the skies
