The Thomas Crown Affair

I am very well aware
of the Thomas Crown affair.
As I sit here in my chair
running fingers through my hair.

Now I solemnly declare
that it certainly is not fair.
So I really do not dare
to pretend I do not care.

For though I may despair
and haven’t got a prayer
of having any share
in the Thomas Crown Affair.

I find I have a flair
for making people care
exactly what they wear
when strolling through the square.

On their way to anywhere
unless they stop and stare
at a window filled with glare
or a multi-millionaire.

If you feel you must repair
to a place with weather fair,
you can ride upon a mare
she will surely take you there.

You can feast on tasty fare
such as eggs and ham or hare
or steak that’s very rare.
It will all be great I swear.

Then, come see me in my lair,
it’s best that you prepare
or you’re bound to get a scare
when you meet my big black bear.

I call him Robespierre
for that’s his nom de guerre
but for those of you who care
I have a truth to share.

It was really Robespierre
who with tender loving care
upon the taking of a dare
devised the Thomas Crown affair.

Trolley Folly

Kukla, Fran and Ollie,
decided to take a trolley,
to visit their sister Molly
and her little girl named Holly

But while they were on the trolley,
a parrot whose name was Polly,
bit the nose of Ollie,
who ran around the trolley,
screaming... by gosh, by gum, by golly,
I'll kill that crazy Polly.

When an officer whose name was Jolly,
observed the screaming Ollie,
he threw them off the trolley.
So they decided to visit Wally
a man who owned a Collie.

Now, if you think this poem is folly,
perhaps you should take the trolley,
to come with me, I insist.
To visit my psychiatrist.

He'll charge you a very high rate.
To tell you this poem is great!
The problem you see, I fear,
is you'd love to get out of here.
For you simply can't stand to be,
round a poet as good as me!

"so, You Think You Can Dance?"

So, you think you can dance
when all you do is prance

as I look at you askance
and prepare to leave for France

I’ll be looking for romance
tho it seems that at first glance

I haven’t got a chance
of making an advance

I must be in a trance
even thinking that perchance

by the taking of a glance
I could ever find romance

in such a broad expanse
as a place called Paris France.

while I’m there you must enhance
your ability to dance

or you won’t have a chance
to win a cash advance

or at least a second glance
on: “So, you think you can dance”

Words

Words,
I love to play with words.
to paint pictures
make music
to touch
to feel
to see
to speak
to rhyme
sometime
or simply hear the sound
of words all around
Oh I really hope you see
why words mean so much to me
Do they mean that much to you?
Do you love words too?
I really hope you do!
Cause whether or not you know it
without words -
you’d never be a poet!
