INTO THANKSGIVING

An inspiration left me,
Gone out of my sight,
Her I hardly ever see,
Be it day or night.

When we talk together,
We seldom ever say
How it is I've met her,
Each and every day.

When we walk together,
Out to the points end,
I know that when I'm with her,
I'll always have a friend.

So as we start into Thanksgiving,
Thanks to "that" which gives us living.

STANLEY CUP 2013

Two teams met on ice
They played strong to make a goal
Three to two the end.

COFFEE

Coffee good,
Hot or iced,
I take it either way.

In the morning,
Or afternoon,
Any time of day.

A FOLK FESTIVAL

These faces from deep within the roots,
Their lines pointed and drawn
     etched with laughs and grins,
Folks for sure.
Homeness and neighborhood
Gelled musically to sights of friends.

'Twas the Full Cold Moon
That made the Night clear and Bright
Befor the New Year.

MY CULTURE

MY CULTURE

Every thing that is around.
North to South and coast to coast,
My culture.

Weather, land and people,
Pan-o-ramas and political views,
My culture.

The ways of talk,
The ways of walk,
The game and showmanship,
Work and play,
Night and day,
My culture.

The pros and teachers and striving reachers,
Artisans and preachers and other creatures,
Law people, tall people, all people,
My culture.

Fauna that's left,
Flora that's left,
Fauna and flora that's here,
My culture.

Relatives and friends,
Their thoughts and opinions,
People oblique to those views,
My culture.

Democracy,
Bureaucracy,
Hypocrisy and idiocy,
My culture.

We progress and mature
Through fault,
My culture.

A light snow falling
Starting to whiten the pitch.
The two teams played on.

KITE FLYING JULY 1 79

A small advance party scouted the valley high,
The rest,
In a ba,
Massed on the ocean nigh,
Not towering creatures with spindly hairs,
Nor mountains of bellows with rumbles of bears,
But endless splotched
Like cotton from cats,
Plumps and hunky
Like so many rats,
These clouds rolled by
In a playful parade,
Summer chasing Summer,
Turtle passing hare,
Chicken riding puppy dogs,
This tree and ground my chair.
Horsehead whales
And heads of bores and boars,
Dragons and unicorns
The half-moon with me watched.

9-4-13 NUMBER 1

A dog,
A backpack,
A guitar,
A walk on a Arkansas Highway.

Weather warm, dry,
Few clouds in the sky,
This was his world,
Today.
