JUNE FIRST 2014

May is gone
And June is here
Wonderful
This time of year.

The Pink Rose

Picture of a rose,
It is pink with water drops,
Aroma of Spring

6-24-14

Inland from the sea,
Five miles at least I would say,
A bay foghorn sounds.

6-5-14

For short and pointed
When a haiku fits the bill
A sonnet won't do.

Two teams met on ice
They played strong to make a goal

9-4-13 NUMBER 1

A dog,
A backpack,
A guitar,
A walk on a Arkansas Highway.

Weather warm, dry,
Few clouds in the sky,
This was his world,
Today.

KITE FLYING JULY 1 79

A small advance party scouted the valley high,
The rest,
In a ba,
Massed on the ocean nigh,
Not towering creatures with spindly hairs,
Nor mountains of bellows with rumbles of bears,
But endless splotched
Like cotton from cats,
Plumps and hunky
Like so many rats,
These clouds rolled by
In a playful parade,
Summer chasing Summer,
Turtle passing hare,
Chicken riding puppy dogs,
This tree and ground my chair.
Horsehead whales
And heads of bores and boars,
Dragons and unicorns
The half-moon with me watched.

Friendly groups they were.

END of AUGUST

And again the clouds they play
For the month is ending,
They open to give the sun a way
Through the fibers bending.

A type of bird I've never seen
Comes gliding by my seat,
Reflecting back into the dream,
The month's been pretty neat.

8-1

An August month again returns
To briskly Summer by,
With days of sun
Wind fully blown
As fleeting clouds
     dance their feathery display.
