Kathleen Gallagher Poem
Your Love
Your love is like,
an autumn scene,
a falling leaf,
a running stream,
Your love is the sun,
shining through the shadow
of the trees,
sharing it's warmth,
through a chilly breeze,
Your love captures,
the tiniest tear,
and turns it to laughter,
then takes away your fear,
Your love can master
all forms of woe,
together you will share,
together you will grow,
through sunshine and rain,
and the falling snow.

Kathleen Gallagher Poem
A falling leaf,
a step in time,
the tune of my thoughts,
set in rhyme,
The autumn sun,
sets a scene,
through the shadow,
of the trees,
it spreads it's beam,
A ray of colours,
fills the sky,
up and over,
the hills so high,
A fresh watery breeze,
brushes my face,
as I stand and stare,
at this wonderful place,
This place is our home,
where we belong,
full of beauty,
and nature's song,
whenever we can,
we should embrace,
the gift of nature,
and all its grace.

Kathleen Gallagher Poem
I will be with you until the end of our lives,
when we are old and grey and covered in hives,
We will share a cup for our dentures,
and go on day out adventures,
Holding hands in the street,
rubbing talc in each other's feet,
We’ll count each other's varicose veins,
and then we'll go for a walk,
with our matching simmer frames,
Oh what a life it will be,
the things that make us happy,
are what make you and me.

Kathleen Gallagher Poem
I look out of the window and see the first buds of bloom;
the tears start to flow as I sit in this dark and empty room,
As I sit I remember your beautiful face,
you dressed so fine, and walked with such grace,
Every morning I sit and stare,
as the buds grow bigger and I feel that your there,
Then one morning, as I took a glance,
I knew then that I had a chance,
I had a chance to get through the days without you,
the most beautiful rose with tears of dew,
I knew it was for me, it was sent by you.

Kathleen Gallagher Poem
My body is a shell,
full of tiny cracks,
through each tiny crack,
seeps my inner self,
little by little,
my confidence is drained,
how long will this last?
Will I take the strain?
Maybe I will,
until I'm completely broken,
when my energies have gone,
and my last words are spoken,
until that day,
I've got to be strong,
and remember to say to myself,
I've done nothing wrong

Kathleen Gallagher Poem
What love is this? That I cannot see,
a feeling inside me, won't let me be,
My freedom of speech,
cannot express how I feel,
My heart has a longing,
my mind pretends it's not real,
the absence of this love in body,
does not dismay me,
for the invisible connection,
will never be set free,
the feelings of loneliness,
oh how I try to deny,
then I catch a glimpse of you,
I can't help it, I just want to cry,
I feel you're presence all around me,
I wish these feelings of helplessness,
would leave me be,
One day, in this world, or maybe the next,
our hearts will be joined once more,
our souls will reconnect,
this is a story of a love so true,
I know one day that fate will bring me to you

Kathleen Gallagher Poem
Cold dark room, stills me with fear,
I can't hear you but I feel you near,
the silence fills me with thoughts,
thoughts of a better place,
as I wipe the tears from my face,
the stillness consoles me,
when will I be set free?
Hands trembling with damp coldness,
I lie down and rest,
maybe this is some sort of test,
is it a test of strength?,
will he go to any length?,
a turn of the key,
a creek of the door,
will I be beaten, a little more?
I’m free from this hell,
with this horrible damp smell,
In my room I now lay,
my saviour, my place,
another night in there,
I just couldn't face,
Twenty years have gone by,
and I still remember that place,
but I'm happy and grateful,
I'll never again have to see his face,
