Understanding Why

Some things unsaid by
bamboos quiet in a pose of repose;
there are shivers in the
chords of leaves
unseen by glances from
eyes unread.
And still,
they close and bow,
things must have been
said from the depth of
a heart bursting not with words
but of silence understood
and affirmed.

October Bliss

each gesture flickers

blazing gold and russet tones

huffed breaths sing of olden notes

October shimmers

on marshland trails bound to gleam

before winter shifts to white

White As Sand

I reach for you when my soul is dreary
when the choice between "one more time”
and " not ever" leaves me
screaming at the edge of surrender,
white as pale sand , not knowing
what is "right" and what "could have become".

You reach for me when the whitened zephyr
is one last breath – as the tenor
of your voice pulls me from this
empty existence. This haunting ghost
of life’s chapters hisses , devoid of light
slain by a frosty cry dressed as goodbye.

But, should I stand within the realm
of mercy that comes from letting go
or the promise of your grains re-echoing
while brushed in your embrace ...
I choose the quite of my own power.

Time of May

Behold this hour soaring of bliss that brings,

the first of May adorned, by doves winging.

Carbon

Leather bound thoughts, tied on pages,
whispering to me on each day's beginnings
This sheet peels heart's cages,
Creeping on a trellis of words not spoken
that in the light, a yearning arisies
Spilling yarns knitted but unraveled

Time's remembrances awaken and heave
Soaking memories on the earmarks of carbon
To learn that passages with haunt phrases
That never open to rage of night
Restrained, I stitch the rims that tear apart
And recite the songs beyond the grey sky.

Springtime

The month of March is a sunshine
pouring as effervescent vanilla
on through the floral pageantry
of tangerine ever glowing--
sun-kissed a golden yellow,
and dashes of the whispering rain
that spice a chilly earth
to waft springtime's minty aroma.

Retracing Hearts' Moments

Recalling today is a token of life's affection,
I bestow a kiss on her paling cheeks
as we pace in a garden, she on a rolled chair-
muttering,"Hello, is there a party out there?"
Incidents shared haze like when we fell in love,
a tingle within from our first- built house ,
the splendor of our newborn's cry --
decades' photographs folded and reopened.

Now,we celebrate in bittersweet ways,
unearthing our dreams and milestones
repeating stories for her to own back , again
just like garden times shining in our eyes.
Roses I cuddle to adorn her. Will she know
a glimpse of time's pleasures---just one bit?
Somehow, she nods like renewed morn
Her eyes glow, " A gift from a friend ,perhaps."

Remains of An Ache

The moon will fade and reset a new day,

but Springtime's rebirth blooms

to remind soil of morn;

when amethyst fields from my window's glass

kissed our wounds in swift depart

leaving abiding ache.

Pathways Dark

Lazy clouds hang in the sky
But darkness shrouds their evil play
They wander here to me this day

I hear a grumble, not a sigh
An evil breeze has much to say
It led me to this place today

Was just out there she had to die
I reached for her she pulled away
You screamed "It's better now this way"

She didn't even want to try
Her body sank her life was gone
No one could search till the next dawn

She didn't even say goodbye
She sank and now to all she's gone
In my mind I still hear her song

I had no time to even cry
It was ten years ago today
I sit here every year and pray

The darkness now it fills my eyes
It's come for me at last today
Soon I will too be on my way
