A Letter From Heaven

A LETTER FROM HEAVEN

As I was mowing my grass and thinking how beautiful it was today.
All of a sudden I heard a voice say it is beautiful here too.
As I looked around I saw nothing, but with a familiar giggle she then said “hey I am talking to you”
Shirley talking to me that could not be.
She giggled again and said “yes it is true this a letter from heaven I am sending you.”

Tell them I am sending a sign so they will know I am safe and happy.
They will have seen it already if not then soon.

What a beautiful site I have to view, fields of sunflowers all in bloom and roses of ever color hue.
Chuck and Mom and Daddy are here and the rest of the family too.
You should be my angel Debbie in her robe of white and eyes of blue.
Peace and love abound
Jesus gave me passage safely through and now I am brand new.
I will be waiting for you here with my arms stretched out to embrace you but stay there awhile it isn’t time, your journey is not through.
Love and Peace I send to you. Kisses from heaven because I Love You.

I Am the Generation Gap

I often think okay I am not that old. I am a pretty cool grandma.. I grew up where mom was the lover, protector and most of all the boss.. I never would have thought to slam a door in my mothers face.. She would have broken it down and beat me with door frame that fell off…but that was way way back when.. You know the time where no one had a cell phone and didn’t care.. No one had computer at home …we did have a typewriter but I am the only one that used it.. We had a small record player and I had vinyl records ..oh how I could rock with Elvis, now I don’t understand the names of groups let alone what they are saying … probably better off not knowing. We wore jeans back then but they were not the staple in our closets, now the are a must have for $100.00 wow I could have bought a whole fall wardrobe for that and a coat..
Food has changed the rule at our house was if Mom put it on the table we ate it or went hungry.. Now every one has to have a special meal.. and manners those are a thing of the pass, I rarely hear a teenager or anyone else say yes sir or no sir.. It is a thing of the past and people don’t speak like that anymore.. Stop talking now means ok lets see who can talk the loudest and longest. My mom had a look that said you had better shut up right now or I am going to kill you.. She wouldn’t kill us but she sure would make us pay .. We went to church on Sunday or Monday if mom said so..
I am sure my granddaddy often thought what is wrong with this generation they will never survive.. But the most of us have and now we think this of the next generations to come.. But I really realized how old I was today when my 16 year old grandson, walked on my new mopped kitchen floor and when I said the floor is wet.. He very calmly replied not to bad.. Laughing as I finish this life has definitely changed.. but 50 years from now he will probably be thinking the same thing I am … where is this generation going to go?????????

I Am a Clutter Junkie

First let me start by saying “I AM A CLUTTER JUNKIE”
A clutter junkie collects things any and all things, things that are unimportant and often cheap
Things that have no purpose or meaning.
Things that usually just end up sitting around needing to be dusted.

I have known for a long time I was a clutter junkie but really didn’t know how bad it was till I decided to de clutter..

Some of things I can not explain are
23 sets of candle holder of different sizes and shapes,
38 pairs of black dress pants oh I know I used them I wear black all the time
10 sets of bedspreads, curtains and throw pillows to match,, yes there are only 2 beds in my house
18 pairs of shoes I havent worn in couple of years
4 boxes of toys yes my youngest child is 33 years old
41 purses choose a color any color
112 bottles of fingernail polish…yeah I have ten fingers and ten toes
31 different containers of eye shadow want to paint a picture
212 long stem glasses no I do not own a bar
Craft supplies make flowers, jewelry, decompage, mosaic, purses, paint, tshirts, oh I don’t even know what some are for.
3 files cabinets full of copy paper, pictures and God himself doesn’t know what I need that for
593 pens I write a lot but not that much
Baskets, urns, and vases I did not even count
21 watches you would think I would know what time it is
I think I have one of every self help book published and some of them I have 2 of the same
I have 4 briefcases and I work from home
I have a six at a time cd player and closer to 600 cds does that make any sense
I have 5 bibles and I do use one most every day
TV well lets see do I count the ones in the house by themselves or count ones in garage sitting on a shelf
I love to cook but there is no way I could use 42 pans today
Dishes of every shape size and color maybe I should throw a party before I throw them away

What is the purpose of all this you say… it is proof positive I am a clutter junkie I say.

I Pray, I Sing, I Laugh, I Sigh

I PRAY, I SING, I LAUGH, I SIGH

I have been funny
I have been sad
I have been silly
I have been glad

The one thing I do best of all is be me
I have cried myself to sleep
I awoke with a smile
I have often wonder where and why

I pray
I sing
I laugh
I sigh

But sharing life with my family
Sometimes makes me want to cry
We have said goodbye and hello a number of times
Babies born and loved ones passed

The dreams, the hopes of all
We share and encourage daily as we go
We have sometimes taken the wrong road
When one of us takes the other by the hand
And leads us home

So I must continue
To pray
To sing
To love
And to sigh

Isn’t this a wonderful life.

Dont Critize Me

Has any one every asked you “ARE YOU CRAZY”
And afterwards you think to yourself ‘AM I’

What constitutes crazy
Is trying to get to kids to play quiet for 1 hour
Is answering phone, text message, and instant message at same time, wondering what you said to either
Is it helping an elderly lady with her grocries at the store, to drop a bottle of orange juice just as it starts in the trunk
Is it laughing so hard you cry when you sister falls on floor even when you hope she isn’t hurt but you laugh even more
Is it when you are awake from a sound sleep at 3 in the morning wonder how did I get this much laundry
Is it cooking dinner with 3 kids in floor and you are thankful you didn’t have more
Is it listening to your husband tell the same story for the millonth time and still smiling cause he is the greatest thing
Is it hearing your granddaddy telling you that’s hot you will get burned but you touched it anyway just to be sure
Is helping a friend you thought was in need, to hear them tell someone else there was no need
Is it going into the same room twice to find you don’t know what you were looking for
Is it putting ice cream in the pantry and sugar in freezer for the second time
Is it showing your daughter how to slip in slide to break a rib oh my goodness why
Is it driving through texas just so you can say you been there
Is coloring you hair to cover the gray and look up to find fusica around your face
Is leaving home think wow I look great and someone takes your picture oh what a mistake
Is the first time you hear your mothers voice come out of your own mouth
Is it the things you remember or the things that you don’t

WELL AS YOU CAN SEE I MAY BE CRAZY BUT I AM ME.

I See Heaven Over There

I SEE HEAVEN OVER THERE.

I see heaven over there
The lights of glory
Do not despair
Tell my friends
I’ll meet them there
I see heaven over there.

My daddy has gone to be with Jesus
Walking on streets of gold
Granddaddy is singing
With the saints of old,
Jesus is still the son of God
God still holds us in his hands

I see heaven over there
The lights of glory
Do not despair
Tell my friends
I’ll meet them there
I see heaven over there.

Angels surround as on our journey we go.
Mothers and fathers praying for our children
Brothers and sisters traveling Gods way
Call on Jesus everyday
He is your friend
Ask him to be your savior
So you too can see heaven over there

I see heaven over there
The lights of glory
Do not despair
Tell my friends
I’ll meet them there
I see heaven over there.

People Watcher

I am a people watcher where ever I go.
I want to know the stories their faces and actions carry hidden below.
Are they sad, lonely or scared?
What is the joy shining in their eyes?
If you smile at them do they smile back?
Are they planning a wedding or a baby?
Are they walking in a crowd but look alone?
Are they trying to fit in but they don’t belong?

Watching people is my favorite past time even though sometimes you hear tidbits of conversation you didn’t want to know.
Smiling children playing with balloons.
Teenagers holding hands swinging as they go.
Mothers chasing children that seem out of control.
Children helping parents struggling with each step they take.
Young lovers looking at rings in a jewelry case.
A widow buying a black dress for a horrible day.
An elderly couple sharing coffee and cookies praying their lives are just beginning
Men pushing a shopping care when they are ready to go.

People like me sitting on a bench watching people and wonder what stories their life can bestow.
