Shade

Shade
                Damnable darkness
             Following, chilling ground
          Where confusion, doubts dwell
                      Shade

The Watering Hole

How long must I travel down this dusty road
Till I find my own watering hole
It feels like its been a long, long time
Since I got a chance to rest my weary soul

I've carried this load for a long, long time
So I feel like I can't go on
I really need to see that watering hole
Just to quench my thirsty soul

My feet are sore, even the suns' beating down on me
So very dry and parched am I
So a long, long cool drink from that watering hole
Sure would work wonders for me

Fatherless Dream

The man I will never know
A shadow
Not even a footstep to follow

No memories to rely
Fainted pictures
No reason to cry

Would I be what I am woe
Useless reasonings
For only God would know

My father has gone, passed from sight
Curse death for he hath won the fight

Why then do I search for thee
A heart broken
My mother crying over me

Dreams are not all they are meant to be
False hope
Knowing it wasn't left to me

Not a son to continue on
A blood linage
Lost forever in a fatherless son

The Road Not Undone

The road you started, you left not undone
You have risen with the morning sun
We give thanks to you Lord for taking away the sin
For all the glory, we know you have won
The road you started, you left not undone
You rose wth the new morning sun
We give thanks to you Lord for all you have done
The wine and the bread to remind us
We drank in one accord
The road you started, you left not undone
You have broken the bonds
And have lifted us taking us home
Upon the road you left undone

Another Day

Another day breaks
Bursting upon the sky
Changing colors which enter the eye

Dangers disappear as light it grows
Erasing the fears
Fear of the crows

Gentle breezes too begin to blow
Happy noises begin to grow
Into this world I now must step
Just in time for meetings kept

I but worry keeping my mind on time

Hurring now through the day
Giving away my life and time
Fearing now those who before
Envisioned thoughts in the mind
Dreaming and fearing coming dark
Changing colors which enter the eye
Broken now with a deep sigh
Another day has passed me by

Beauty desoliving about me now
Crows wings spreading covering the ground
Destroying the freedom that was found

Everyone runs quick to hide
From this terror now residing outside
Given to fears that were once before
Hidden within the sun

Into a house they all will run

Happy tunes no more to be sung
Gratitude sold for a beer
Fleeting moments gone with the sun
Expound the increase
Daylight hours again shall be found
Caring again shall abound
Beauty shall open unto me
Another day dawns revealing the ground

Ride On

I rode him as he trodded
Stepping high, he nodded
His mane waving in the air
As though he had no care
I saw the spirit in him rise
With a gleam in his eyes

Step proud, I thought he heard
For he nodded with every word
Sweat seeping from the pores
From the saddle which brought the sores

Ride on I felt in my heart
Ride on, let us not part
Ride on, ride even in the dark
Ride on for I wished not to park

He tired so here we will stay
Resting here awaiting the day

Ride on even in my dream
For I felt it would redeem
My hunger and my pain
Riding on striving to gain
Peace and solitude to be found
And the joy stomping upon the ground

Ride glory ride, ride with pride
Ride glory with every stride
Ride forever I would pray
Ride on at the break of day

Fear the Quagmire

He has come again
and I am powerless to keep him away
Yeah I desire to hear his voice
yes I know he only speaks lies
Even though they smell like death, I listen
I and he become as one, cursing the groumd
The same ground that supports my step
the same ground where I slept
That dreaded quagmire that shall bring me down
which holds my foot from solid ground
I listen and the why
has forever evaded me
So I tell thee now
fear the quagmire meant only to pull you down

Questions

Questions
                                       enter doubt
                                  allows fears roots
                               darkness a place to grow
                                        Questions

Pepto

Oh poor oh me oh
Franks and beans
Gives me indigestion
And you know what that means
Gastritis and heartburn
Needs pink relief
So I take
Pepto-Bismol

Machines Rule the World

Bleep and ring are all I hear
A machines demand to be attended by man
No beast cares for you oh dishwasher
Dolphins will not surf the net
Monkeys don't swing to the music on that radio
The only animal ruled by the machine
Is the one who created the supposed need for one
No moment goes by without that dreaded beast
Always making sounds nothing else can make
Yet man believes that he needs you oh thing without a heart
Cars and computers everywhere you look
Phones used to communicate everywhere I go
The air bombarded by noise abound
Yet all crave the silence of the forest
The feeling of a warm hand and not a machines part
