Vacation To Schizophrenia

A whole house aired with dust
and dark twilight at every hour,
there was a mountain— tall as rust
that made me feel a coward.

There were cans and cans on
tiled floor? More dust and dirt
on towels. As a child, I clutched my teddy
bear, while inside I lost
some vowels.

Uncovering

Unbearably I gaze
through the endless smog,
and attempt
to blow clouds
away.

Though
a pollution I have let it
become,
It seeps
             inside.

Around, it is dark
because inside
so am I.

Patients

Someone is wearing brown shoes.
Ones that look like
penny loafers, ones that look like
blue shoes. Beige slacks and scrubs
lifted and carried them into new
shoes, and there are a million shoes
coming in and out
the revolving doors.

Conversation
flickers and illuminates
into busy back-up binds
that throw up into
reality.

Plasters of plastic white-on-white
skin. With small detailed letterings
of a label, a label, and
numbers... with a finger that
beckons you to,
"Follow Me."

Old Men

White tops invite
an old man's story in for
ear's listen. The shade
creeps up behind the
elders' circle's edge
of lawn chairs,
inducingly pushing
the men
to sleep.

Beer
      nudges the wrinkles
and wear out of their
tired eyes, and lifts their
shoulders, curves their backs, and switches
their postures in to hear
the muffled grunts heave in and out
of Old Pa's speech.

Mam screamed at me,
while Grandpa
fell off his chair

And I fell off my feet, after that ball
was thrown at my head.

2 Am

The lights stay up to
keep me awake
in this town that is a party.

The black night is a
dome that cloaks
our busy turmoil with
buried faces
in their bubbles and clouds.

Faces pass
as fast as the light. The air is
hushed in its tone,

but it feels like a new
wave of life.

I stare out the taxi window
and watch the town
before I have to go

to sleep.

Awakening

Calmly you linger
around the edges
of my darkness.
You appear first as
a soft glow.

Ever so gradually
does your brightness come
in a fluent gesture,
and inviting calm.

Awakened
are my senses
as you illuminate
my surroundings.

Alive
do I feel,
as it is bright
and I see.

Half Alive

Eyes open
heavily
slowly
reluctantly
each time.

All I see
is darkness.

I stumble
backandforth
through the thick clouds
of fog
that surround me

I melt
into a soft corner
farthest away
from everything.

Gone

Oh, but
gradual as you come, you
             go,
and abandonment
taunts
as I sit
still
in its threat.

Contained,
I see you
I watch you
I let you
drift away.

Longing a Forever

Comfort you bring,
as warmth greets me with
pleasure
through your rays.

A gently touch furthers the swiftness of
affection,
and a longed care appears through your
tender kisses,
sweet touches,
and soft eyes.

The sweetness of
your light, how I wish
to bask in you
forever.
