Ol' Mississippi

Old Mississippi
Old Mississippi run, run, run
But she don’t talk all she does is run
Old Mississippi run, run, run
The keeper of many secrets but she don’t talk all she does is run.

Old Mississippi run, run, run
Minnesota’s greatest highway
Mighty when she carries
Nevertheless, she don’t talk all she does is run.

Old Mississippi run, run, ru
A witness of much change and much building in Minneapolis and Saint Paul
Claiming many lives
But you never say a word all you do is run.

Dedicated to the mighty Mississippi River.

Calm

A message from a poet to all that lives on earth to demonstrate mercy.

             Calm
Love and forgiveness is the way of peace
Reconciliation so that hate may cease
A softer tone to comfort the weak
A brighter path of negotiation and turning the other cheek
Holding hands in dear bonding with one another
All humanity living in harmony with each other.

A civilized state of common respect for all
The direction to tear down conflict and a sexist wall
To seek justice to insure safety with the reminder of responsibility
Redeeming our spirituality or freedom of choice, indiscriminately
So that we all may stand united without fear undoubtedly
Calm.

A Better Day

A Better Day
A day to be loved, a day to be free
A day to be plain, a day for me
As the day begins, the day comes
When you see green grass outside
From the heavens; God will provide

The birds sing a sweet song
The animals come out short and long
And a man starts his working
And rain clouds come a lurking

A day to be loved, a day to be free
A day for happiness filled with new joy
A day for a girl to meet a boy
A day, someday this day will come.
