Respect

It is not what you say,
but how you say it sometimes.
respect is something
mutually given.
It is so valuable
that if you want it
you have to give it..

Florida Keys- Blue

The bluest ocean I've ever seen
well in some spots there were shades of green
The Oceans apart from life's dreary breeze.
I'm talking about the Florida Keys.

I was young last time I went.
I remember the time I spent.
The blue skies , blue waters and all.
It's so picturesque, I recall.

I like to swim in waters blue
clear as glass just looking through
Coral reefs I saw so clear
as the fish swam ever near

All the sparkling oceans view
compliments the shade of Blue.

Old Country Church

I remember a time when church was packed on sundays
I remember a time when church was the place to be
we need to seek God's will ,and practice faith more often
Like they did in the old country church

I remember a time when church would last for hours
I remember a time when more than one would preach
we need to humlbe down a little more often
Like they did in the old country church

I remember the times old folks were in the spirit
In that time they would make the raftures ring
we need to go back to the days of praise and worship
like they did in the old country church

Sweet Peace

Jesus is a friend so dear
He whispers "sweet Peace"
in my ear.

For the Brave Men and Women Who Fight For Us Everyday

There are brave men and women somewhere tonight
standing in alert and ready to fight.
I send a simple prayer
as they bravely march on through
defending the honor of the Red, White and Blue.
No air conditioned condo's and fine dining in their ranks.
They march on foot, or cargo trucks, in flight or Army tanks.
For all of us you risk your life, and your world is upside down.
I believe in heaven there's a jewel in your crown.

Lovely Summer Nights

sitting in the pool
swimming in the moonlit night
steaks are on the grill
watermelon is on ice
what a lovely summer night

Praise God,Oh Glory

I may not have any earthy goods
and I may not have any fame
but someday in the book of life
I know you'll find my name
I long to walk on streets of pure gold
can't wait to live where we'll never grow old
Praise God,Oh How I praise God

Praise God, oh Glory hallelujah
Christ is King
Praise God almighty
let the Hallelujahs ring
Praise God forever
How the Heaven's ring
Praise God, Oh How I praise God

I may not be the beautiful one
I don't claim to be much at all
but someday I'll have a heavenly form
when I arise to my saviors call
Someday I'll have a mansion fair
over in glory Land
I get so excited in praise I lift my hands..

Powder Pink Phone- Childhood Memory

When I was 6 I started school and growing up
meant responsibilities. Part of the responsibilities that I took up was answering the
phone. Not any phone but my own phone, it was powder pink. Just right for a girls
room, and rotary fun for dialing. I treasured this phone because it was the very item
that made it possible to talk to my family way in another state. My best friend down
the street, although she didn't have her own phone in her room, she could use her
mom's. We would talk for hours, do our home work together and joke about the
boys. On this powder pink phone we would figure out what we were wearing, make
out our weekend plans and talk to boys as we grew older. On this Phone I made my
first date, received many holiday greetings from family and birth announcements of
new family members, even news if my parents were running late from work. On this
pink phone I grew from adolescent to a young lady. On this pink phone I stayed
connected to everyone that I knew and hold memories dear of the times I held that
little pink phone in my hand up to my ear.

Have Mercy On Me

I did not head your call today.
I listened to what others say.
I failed to hear your still small plea
Oh,Lord Have mercy on me.

I didn't call to check on dad.
I ignored the feeling that I had.
caring about no one you see.
Oh,Lord have mercy on me.

I got a call from Nurse FLo.
I started crying when she let me know.
dad had been calling for me to see.
Oh,Lord have mercy on me.

Please oh,Lord forgive me now.
and help me make things right somehow
Help me to get back to the
Oh,Lord have mercy on me

Just In Time

There was a time in my life
when I was lonely and broken
I would sing many a song
but It was His words unspoken.
One glance.
A meeting of Chance.
The wounds were all healed.
but scars still reviled .
Was it an inchanted spell
love was not just a fairy tale,
But it is more precious than Gold.
A precious treasure to behold.
I began to view the world as a new born child
seeing things through eyes of love so mild
Compassion for my fellow man
became important once again.
Both He and I were alone
and thought that all love had gone.
but God smiled on us and allowed us to reach that everlasting love that we'd dreamed about.
just in time..

The right time contest
