The Thing That Matters Most

Anniversary
The day I wed my soul-mate
It was a good day

On Grandma's Farm

There's an antique red barn
Sits atop the hill
And a small little pond
Chock full of blue-gill

There's old rusty cars
Which haven't ran in years
And a hundred year old house
Once manufactured by Sears

It's loaded full of memories
It's filled with lots of charm
It's a place I know and Love
It's all there...On Grandma's Farm

Used to go there every Sunday
From as far back as I can remember
Sledding down the hill
In the snow come December

I Loved it out at Grandmas
Playing with toy tractors in the sand
Going to help split wood
Just to lend a helping hand

I Loved it winter, spring and summer
But my favorite time of all
Was when the leaves all turned
The wonderful colors of fall

I was carefree and happy
The world was free from harm
Way back when I was a kid
Out On My Grandma's Farm

Alone and Blue

The wind whispers through the night
Cool against the mist on my skin
A neon sign that reads "Motel" lights my way
Hundreds more have lit where I've been

This night isn't unlike countless before
Walking endlessly with nowhere to go
I pass a drunk in a doorway
And think "now there's something I know"

All I own is here on my back
And the memories I have of you
Lost everything when you left
Now I walk Alone and Blue

Alone and Blue
Living with memories of you
Alone and Blue
What the hell am I going to do

Alone and Blue
No matter how hard I try
Alone and Blue
You never even told me why

Sometimes I wish it would all end
All the pain and suffering gone
Putting my weary mind at ease
My soul could then carry on

But until then I walk through the mist
That rides upon the whispering winds
And go on hearing your voice
My sanity... I try to defend

Alone and Blue
Living with memories of you
Alone and Blue
Are you lonely too??

Explaining Love

If I could only steal a moment One precious beat of your Heart Would I be able to show you Where would I start How can I presume to explain Love There are no words you have not heard Perhaps then a Kiss, but then again Isn't that a bit absurd Where else would I Kiss you Dear There's not an inch of you not smothered And I've written the ink out of pens I fear I've left not a word left uncovered How then do I tell you Or is there no way to show Maybe all I have to do is nothing Because you already seem to know Love cannot be explained in a single moment Nor the beat of anyone's Heart So I'll go on Loving you every single day Until death do us part © 2011 Kevin Stock

Desperately Lonely, Tragically Invisible

The times we share together
Are magical memories in the making
Leaving me at peace
In total contentment with us

Your radiant warmth surrounds my soul
Protecting it from loneliness
Of the countless years of neglect
That fights so hard to hold on

My arms are there to wrap your warmth
Ensure that it never grows cold
With the coldness that comes along with indifference
Or being as thin and transparent as cellophane

We will never again
Be desperately lonely, tragically invisible
Left alone in purgatory
By the broken promises of false love

Now we are one
Except when we need the strength of two
Companions in every endeavor
Hand in hand through life

Diary of a Dream

One page at a time Written in my mind What I would call... ...My Diary Of A Dream It's funny probing Poking around the mind Trying with difficulty To recall the details Each day I file away Another page of memories The details...a bit sketchy And grow more so with time My Diary Of A Dream Written with invisible ink Easy to erase Easy to forget... © 2011 Kevin Stock

Dandelion Seed

She stands lost in a thought
A tiny finger to her lips
Head slightly tilted to one side
Appearing too old for her age
Well, too old for me anyway

Certainly she's only three
How could she be any more
Yet...she is more, so much more
At different times she is more
But, at night, she is three

When I read her "Goodnight Moon"
And she's as Snug as a Bug
After the Prayers are said
When her nightly movie has begun
Then...then she's three

Most days...through my eyes
She's growing like a dandelion
She's a dandelion seed
Being blown away with the breeze
Blown out of my life, in to hers

She stands with her hands on her hips now
Wearing Levi jeans and painted toes
Fascinated by color and texture
Playing the guitar...not really knowing how
And time seems to pass me by

Won't be long and she'll be too old
Too old for my Heart to take
Off in this frightful world
Spreading her wings to fly away
But at night she'll still be three...to me

So you must go my Angel
I've got you protected in my Heart
During your quietest moments remember
Daddy will always be there with you
And at night you'll still be three

Dandelion seed on the breeze
Flying through eternity
It's the cycle of life you see
Yet in my Dreams you're still three
And you're here with me
