Two Women, Similar Yet Different

Two Women, Similar Yet Different

Educated yet could not prevail,
School of hard knocks,
Similar Yet Different.

A lavish life yet unfulfilled,
Appreciative of what life brings,
Similar Yet Different.

Ignorance lacking accountability,
Responsible yet naive,
Similar Yet Different.

Egotistical taunting artfully,
Craft fully expressing discontent,
Similar Yet Different.

Crocodile tears yearning notice,
Noiseless hiss of strength,
Two Women, Similar Yet Different.

Chameleon - Friend Or Foe

Chameleon - Friend or Foe

A tree dwelling lizard with sticky tongue,
Changes its colours to suit its purpose.
Native to Africa, furthest south,
A shrewd and calculating reptile.

Stereoscopic eyes scheming projections,
Uniquely adapts and conforms.
Cunning deceptions, misleading intentions,
Ensures self preserving survival.

Skin rough and weathered with tiny scales,
Exhibits shades of envy, jealousy.
Seldom evoking strong emotion,
It adapts its colours to company.

Its Camouflage often mistakable,
Chameleons fill the forest.
Playing dead in presence of predators,
A self promoting carnivore.

A Chameleon is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

The Written Word

The Written Word

Descriptive in its details,
Meaningful and informative.
Inspiring to many,
Imaginative, musical, often poetic.
The Written Word

An affirmation of thoughts,
Habitually substantial and significant.
Recants history, belief, prediction,
Influential and  frequently powering.
The Written Word

Announces accomplishments,
Administers judgements and punishments.
Proclaims accolades, disguises truths,
Manipulates the innocent and ignorant.
The Written Word

Weapon of closure,
Hurtful, twisted and simulated.
Vindictive, distorted, classless,
The Written Word can be forgiven,
Cannot be undone.

Lessons Learned

Lessons Learned

Forgive but never forget,
Don't sweat the small stuff.
What goes around comes around,
Always think of the big picture.
Lessons Learned

Don't throw stones at glass houses,
The grass isn't always greener.
Appearances are not always what they seem,
A pretty smile is not a welcoming heart.
Lessons Learned

Appreciate the moment,
Love unconditionally.
A mother holds a family together,
Don't cut your nose despite your face.
Lessons Learned

Strength comes from within,
Hard work pays off.
With patience comes maturity,
Never give up.
Lessons Learned

Hatred can eat your soul,
An apple does not fall far from a tree.
A happy wife brings a happy life,
Better safe than sorry.

Mistakes are Lessons Learned.
