Is Me

the resiliencey of human spirit
the test of a man
the trials and tribulations
written out upon the palms of our hands
once easily fixed, now broken
a heart in pieces on the floor
but the joy we feel in life
keeps us coming back for more
all the pain and sorrow
frought within our head
with the help of loved ones
elation takes it's stead
but when no one is left
to make you feel complete
your soul, your heart
begin to deplete
now I've pushed away my brothers
and replaced their love with fear
but who is there to blame
the answer, my dear, is clear
I've done this to myself
which makes the feeling worse
no one to take the fault
no evil doer which to curse
It's been my choice to be alone
to live solemnly day to day
until I am forgotten
until I fade away
and as my final days approach
it's easier to see
that the only one who can
save me
from me
is me

There Was a Monster In My Bed, But He's No Longer With Us

I hope you die in your sleep, it's only fitting
for you to exit this life unconscious, unwitting.
It's the only way for you to go, safe and sound in bed,
the place you've hurt so many. The place you pled
another naive boy, another desperate girl, into your embrace.
I'll tell the world your secrets, I'll show them your disgrace.
No more mystery of where you spent your nights,
your wife will know, oh how you deserved all the fights.
And when this time comes, your evil will finally be known.
All your demons, all your skeletons, the lies you called your throne
displayed to the world. Your shame, your mistakes, the stunts you pull
they will prove me right, will finally show you for what your are; unfaithful.
Unfaithful to your friends, but more so, unfaithful to your lover.
I only have one qualm, the state of your wife, but I'm sure she will recover.
For it's not hard for the world to move on from someone such as you.
Someone so disgusting, so despicable, so diabolical through and through.

Devil-May-Care Touches

Devil-may-care touches
sliding along my chest.
To my heart he clutches'
it's there he's made his nest.
The awkward beat of this dance,
the beating of my heart.
More than just a passing glance,
the two will never part.
The grip grows tighter
until I no longer feel,
my body grows lighter,
throat closes, ending this spiel.
The end of the road awaits,
it grows near with my fading soul.
The result of our intertwined fates
culiminating, making us whole.

Vinegar Part One

a metaphor; imagine the sea is a representation of you, of your life
in this personification, the waves are representative of pain, of our strife
avoid the turbulence above, a place so close, so different, a place so frenetic
towards the chaos, the calamity of the waves on the surface , remain apathetic
there is no need for the negative emotions, all they are; unwanted commotion
let them be calved from us like icebergs from the glaciers, doomed to wander the ocean
ebbing and flowing, melting slowly, growing more miniscule with every passing day
until they can't hang on, until they've all gone, until the last one has faded away
on these thoughts of sorrow, these thoughts of hatred, you must never, ever bide
just relax, just breathe, just give my way a try, the icebergs, they will be cast aside
I say this genuinely and true, I mean every word I say, each one from my own heart
my intentions are pure, a plan to bring peace. it's simple, this knowledge on you I impart;

in the quest for decencey, for compassion, to be remembered as a remarkable man
don't follow a misread book, a profiteering man, don't follow someone else's master plan
for the motivation should not lie in a fear of hell below nor a promise of heaven above
no, the inspiration for our causation comes from deep within the sea, within us, it's love.

Vinegar Part Two

a love for your fellow human being, simply show compassion for your brother,
this is what the world needs; to be working towards an understanding of one another
but we're too busy fighting, much like the squid and the whale, til death, entwined
their way of life, the tentacles, both are binding, is that what you want? a life so confined?
don't follow their lead, don't live with their hate, it's control of your thoughts they seek
I ask you to resemble the sea; I beg you, be gracious, I plead, you must never be meek.
let this be the salt in your water, salinity is serenity, into every inch of you, let it spread
I ask you to keep a promise, I request of you, please, make these words your daily bread
We'll right the wrongs, clear our hearts of the taint, the weight of hate, we'll make amends
we'll stick together, we'll have our ups, our downs, but together we'll weather the bends
a life less virulent, a cure for your jellyfish sting, the vinegar, these words, a gift I give to you
these words, they will remedy us all, these are the truths, the truths that I pursue;

face your life with an open mind and face it with a love that's barrier transcending
face you life with open arms and face your life with a kindness that's unbending
face your life with an open heart and face it with a happiness that's never-ending
for the tide has come, to wash this all away, and it's time to start defending

Heart of Stone

a life lived
a glass half full
oh, how I've fallen
oh, how despicable
once a butterlfy
now a hermit
I'm left wondering,
"was it worth it?"
the question with no answer
from anyone but myself
how does one measure
the wealth of one's self?
is it the connections we've made?
the innocence we've lost?
the things which we own?
what does a good life cost?
will we know when we're gone
if we made the right choices?
or will we still suffer
under rule of our own voices?
will god judge us?
or anubis weigh our hearts?
will we be cast to hell?
a heart of stone, a last remorse

Red Ribbons

another red mark on this tender wrist
for every chance that I've missed
for all the times I've betrayed
for all the mistakes I have made

I've made my bed
so I'll lie in it
i'll wallow in sorrow
I hope you will remit

take me back, i need you now
take me back, someday somehow
take me back, say you'll stay
take me back, blow me away

Final 'Bout

wild in the streets
barely alive
take another drink
just to revive
riding the waves
out in the crowd
i'm singing along
i'm gonna scream it out loud
the night life
is my time
the witching hour
it's so divine
so get this
party started
for this night
is left uncharted
i'm in the pit
takin' 'em out
swinging left and right
this is the final bout
i let it go
i lose all control
i hit the floor
and the heads will roll
the night life
is my time
the witching hour
it's so divine
so get this
party started
for this night
is left uncharted

alright everyone, out on the dancefloor

sex. drugs and rock n roll
the icons we extol
with them we lose control
we reveal our soul
we're gonna call you out
leave you with no doubt
no need to scream or shout
THIS IS THE FINAL BOUT!

Friendship On Fire

Heaven knows I´ve been waiting
to light in your heart a spark
The same that´s glowing within me
And force me to stay in the dark
Be sure I will try dearest darling
Though heaven might want me to wait
I cannot live without you forever
and never my dear, is just too late
If love is just friendship on fire
say would it be hard to love me
With our souls captured together
Then we´ll finally, truly, be free

A Macabre Epiphany

Sucide has never been an option for me because I wanted to see how it all ended. But
recently I've come to realize that me killing myself is it. The conclusion is me with the gun in my mouth and my finger on the trigger. The lives of other's go on, but mine ceases to exist. It's like watching a movie where the main character dies halfway through, though only from the perspective of the main character. As far as I know, the whole world ended after I died.

If you asked anybody else, they'd probably say they missed me, but they wouldn't grieve for long. I was more like the shadow of the main character, always there but not nearly as important.

So here I sit, with the gun in my lap, waiting. I'm not sure what I'm waiting for... an excuse not to do it? Someone to rush through the door and rescue me? For her to come back and apologize for everything she did? That won't happen, she probably doesn't even remember my name.
