Flight of Fall

As I lay one sullen autumn morn
on pearl dew turf with the day unborn
staring at the grey grimacing sky
with the mood and moment not quite high
sepulchral static wherever I looked
when my dreary dizzy gaze was hooked
at a lone leaf's death-descent down
to join its wilted kin on ground
then a sudden silent slithering breeze
deprived me of my warmth and ease
and the disturbed withered shroud of Fall
hustled revived in a rustling brawl
hurled and curled in the fading mist
till the whispering winds chose to desist
but Nature lies dead once again
until the wind resumes,retrieves restrain
and I know this flight of life is brief
for I'm none other than a fallen leaf.

October

Crackling leaf carpets,
Static chill touches the neck,
Autumn, bids farewell.

Heartbroken Clouds

Mingle with mounts, wander arid desert sands
seep into seas, lie lone o'er unknown lands
replicate waves of myriad mirrors flowing below
stand on meadows high engulfing green bands
innocent smiling children, gaze in delighted awe
at tufts tickling kites with a feathery fluff claw
the meditating sage atop a peak simply seeks
that all wants, wishes, into this vapour withdraw
stepping stones on the patchy pastel sky
furrowed fields, they fade, and away, they fly
shifting, shrinking, shapeless strewn shreds
white paint stroke streaks hovering high
in ripe time, like truth, they silently freeze
they twist and break with the blowing breeze
or seem darker than lies hidden away
than truth clouded, delayed or unreleased
creeping crimson hues mark presence
climb slow the soft snowy effervescence
as they eclipsed the sun, it lost sunshine
its soul seemed dead, life lost the essence
a sight that reminds of love's fulfilling bliss
this upside-down land that the angel's kiss
afloat on cotton cushions, watch the world amok
running across horizons,floating this abyss
the shadows shielding are so dark, so dead
how the heart and soul shiver in dread
fearing the sunshine shall never return
wishing to merge with the clouds instead
overcast meaning, truth casts a shroud
flashing rage in sparks, thunders angrily aloud
live dreams not fears, crush doubts not hopes
cries the perennially pouring heavy cloud
at times soft clouds meet thundering peers
throwing lightning, thunder, words and fears
tender hurt hearts shatter at the harshness
making broken clouds mourn a million tears

What Whispers the Wind.

The winds is too haunting
its dour, dreary and daunting
its voiceless song is wanting
for souls to listen it flaunting

Its whistling tunes that play
eerie melodies of dismay
oft sweet, oft an angered fray
they beckon me to come away

From my souls lone sojourn
where the ashes never burn
to reach out for what I yearn
learning to forget, to unlearn

The winds are too disturbing
and the chills are unnerving
so guilty and undeserving
of memories they're reserving

They are calm as moonlight
and a lonely souls delight
whispering sharp yet slight
with many a secret to confide

And I listen with attention rapt
at the words so true and apt
to souls that the winds trapped
that apprehensively adapt

The winds are so tantalizing
mystic, musical and surprising
tapering and quickly rising
hypnotic and channelizing

They bring what we forget
all our pain and our regret
words meant to remain unsaid
truths and the lies we dread

They are calling me desperately
the song turns a woeful plea
and I wish it would swallow me
with the whispers I long to flee

And be a secret of the breeze
the incessant mourns that freeze
the souls passing by the trees
the singer that no one sees

Setting my shivering soul aflame
my minds peace it can't reclaim
at times it whispers Your name
subtly, I whisper back the same.

Night Blindness

She sped to dinner like a flash,
soon she'd be tipsy and flabby.
When suddenly there was a crash,
OH!she tripped over a tabby.

She was shocked, the cat was shocked,
Yes!the cat was shocked and how!
But don't you worry, off they walked,
With an OW! and a cursing MEOW!

She just trotted off, for hunger beckoned,
but as she struggled with food, forks and knives,
I doubt if at all she had reckoned,
That she'd scared off eight of kitty's nine lives.

Rain of Healing Time

What if there was rain?
rain that carried time.
bombarded us
with drops of eternity.
making us age.
our hair turn white.
the leaves wither.
the grass burn
and die.
the buildings mossy
and unattended.
the swings rusty.
the children who play
in the rain,
lose their innocence.
the rocks weathered.
battering drops dig
pits into the cement.
the world turns old,cold,grey.

As I watch it
from the confines of
my bedroom window.
guilty of escaping the rain
that washes away
our pain.
the rain of healing time.
maybe I should
catch a drop and
see my palm swiftly wrinkle.

There is no respite
from this rain.
all that survives is
my inner child.
within a shell of a pilgrim
making his way towards
the final truth.
trying to find the end
of time.
sipping the slow poison
that is this rain.

Unparalleled

Like parallel lines run together
they never meet if they run forever
on different roads but side by side
lest in life they coincide
if they intersect they combine
they overlap and entwine
for it is how our twin souls run
how two souls turned to be ONE...

Oh Fish

If God is such a gracious giver
This water was boiling oil I wish,
so straight from the running river
...I'd have instant deep fried fish.

Something About the Month of May

Something about the month of May
Through early dawn unto the day
From dusk to night's twinkling play
Of all nature's beauty on display
The Star's own star shines on so bright
Like the sparkle in her eyes alight
I chance to catch her downcast sight
That sets me lost in love's delight
The day brings colors atop the trees
Magnificent blossoms sway in the breeze
With flaming crimson and fiery red
That fall to form a flowery bed
And upon this path together we tread
I'd pick a flower as on we walk ahead
Put it gently upon her ear to stand
Then carry on walking hand in hand
Across the petaled floral land
her presence lets the flowers look grand
Maybe it might attract some bees?
Who dance around and buzz and tease
I'd hold her tight in a protective squeeze
Even long after the creature flees
Short lived lilies bloom on the side
Blue bell creepers gape with awing pride
Pink blossoms deck the tree like a bride
All I wish is to have my angel beside
The scents tickle my senses astray
How I delve deeper each passing day
Dearest dream lets run away
When the sun streaks its final ray
When squirrels have long finished their play
The birds sing farewells melodious and gay
And the blossoms along with us shall sway!
We'll waltz till our worries wither unto nay
Silhouetted against the twilight sun's delay
The nights are as warm as your touch
The moon up high is just too much
Your smile makes the heart stop as such
The soul deep love can't loosen its clutch
Of all the beauty that graces Spring
Of all the treasures this month does bring
Of the only reason the birds could sing
Was merely me and mother nature conspiring
For setting up your dimpled smile
To listen to your soothing voice a while
As you calmly sing a nostalgic tune
Pleasant as a warm sun on a winter noon
The song softens and your eyes close soon
And a few chestnut locks lie bestrewn
Tickling my neck as you ease a place
Upon my shoulder in a dreamy daze
I look askance to catch your gaze
As I glance upon your cherubic face
To meet your loveliest eyes that steal
The words and thoughts I don't reveal
They hold me with their magical appeal
As our souls swim into love surreal
We close our eyes and like a feather
Float gently into dreams together.

Existence

Over the ridges of orange sand
watch it slide,sink and expand
as the orange turns a silhouette
I wish life would reach its sunset
a gigantic glow of fading light
that slowly subsides into the night
it just becomes a crimson pyre
of the hopes that never flew higher
their magnificence brutally mangled
one by one, picked and strangled
and if love is merely a setting sun
let the holds of life come undone
be my dusk of a painful existence
sink with the sun into the distance.

*Written atop a red dune whilst watching the sunset.
