The Sound of Night

When we go to sleep
The night comes alive
From the womb of the day
Here it arrives
A beautiful thing
With so much inner glow
Sometimes it's revealed
Sometimes you don't know
The animals living within
The whispers of the trees
Cooling down it's mothers heat
By giving us a chilling breeze
Hidden witin itsef
Are those mysterious music makers
With a different face in the daylight
Our beautiful music wakers
So protective of its source
Never are they revealed
Hear them with no sight
Yet you know they're real
These are the sounds
The night gives to us
But never the musicians
Showing its mistrust

Caged No More

This is the day
You are finally free
But a day eventually
Everyone will see
The door swung open
And then you stepped through
Leaving a useless body
Taking away the inner you
And if you look back now
You'll see everything is your past
Leaving others caged behind
Knowing these times would never last
This was your time to say goodbye
And go into your everlasting sleep
But memories are always there to comfort
When in our souls we weep
We may not understand now
Why angels chose to close your eyes
But your encouraging words are always there
To help us when we cry
So go and be free
Now's your time to fly away
Caged no more
Never again another day

I Picture You In Heaven

A better place
That's where you are
Body in the ground
But spirit far
I picture you in Heaven
Looking down on me
And when the sun shines
I know you're happy
I pictue you in Heaven
On Earth what you could not be
No longer caged by physical illness
But like a bird flying free
I picture you in Heaven
Holding Jesus hands
Surrounded by his angels of love
Knowing you looked forward to this promised land
I picture you in Heaven
The face of serenity
That particular picture
Its what stays with me

Rollar Coaster

I've rode this ride for far too long
The enjoyment of it has long been gone
The ups and downs, the twists and turns
I refuse to go around another curve
The outside no longer holds an attraction to me
The excitement has long since cease
I deserve so much more than this
But this ride with you i'll never forget
I'm sick of this now
The unexpected change
Smooth sailing to jerking around
Nothing stays the same
The highs and the lows
It's too much for me
Because the highs are too high
And the lows are too deep
My emotions are raw
With the speed of this ride
So now is the time'
For me to say goodbye
It's over now i'm through
My time i've completely lost
I'm sick of this rollar coaster
And I think it's about time I got off

Don'T Ever

Don't ever tell someone
Something you'll regret
Because even in the end if you're sorry
In their heart they'll never forget
Dont'ever question God why
Something bad is happening to you
You may never see the answer
But its clear:someoe else is also going through
Don't ever assume you have tomorrow
Seeing morning is a gift
It may seem natural to you
But on\e day you won't get
Don't ever wish your pain
On someone else who you think deserve
Think this always
To no one is pain earned
Don't ever be so selfish
That you put yourself higher than others
If you want to be accepted
You should never be above another
Don't ever think you're better than someone else
Because first of all it isn't true
Looking at how ironic life is
That may be the person who helps you
Don't ever tell someone you don't need them
Because that can't be honestly said
You dont't knoe if you'll ever need them
You can't look that far ahead
Don't ever wish to die
Because someone else is wishing to live
You should always have faith
There's always a little more to give
Don't ever give up hope
You have more than enough
It's in other people
You have someone
Don't ever pass a chance
To lend a helping hand
Because the more you bend down
The stronger you'll stand
And most importantly
Don't ever stop caring
Maybe no one to you
But someone is hearing
