One Night Stand

Their once was a girl in love
She knew he was sent from above
They danced, they sing they did everthing
But then he deflated in the tub

Please Hold

"Thank you for calling….”
Is what’s trained to be said
But when they get irate and lewd
I feel like hanging up instead.

This person’s always right, that person’s never wrong.
Mr boss sir, your breath is oh so strong !
they’re mean and crass, just downright rude
I might just be naughty and get the big boss sued.

I give picture perfect smiles,
the really artificial Kind
Welcome and please come again,
you just died ten times in my mind

Just got off the last call and I don’t mean to be crude
But goodbye till tomorrow, the next complaint I’ll elude

Only Five Letter Words

Seeds start petal grows
Beats heart winds blows

Birth begin fresh souls
Dance elkin storm rolls

Teens dwell learn quick
Adult excel passe chick

Older comes elder bring
Lifes drums death sting

Lives reset cycle renew
Plant hopes dream adieu

Grain sough alive chose
Seeds start petal grows

Addiction

You should have been honest with me from the start you would have still gotten what you wanted;

You didn't need to tell me that I'm pretty when you dislike the color of my eyes,
You didn't have to pretend to like the sound of my voice just to fill my ears with lies,

You should have been honest with me from the start you would have still gotten what you wanted;

No need to tell me that you like me when it's she that you love she's is in your heart but I'm sent from above?

You should have been honest with me from the start you would have still gotten what you wanted

No need to trick me into trusting you just so you could stab me in the back my love for you is much stronger than that in my life you've made such an impact

You should have been honest with me from the start you would have still gotten what you wanted;

It wasn't a waste of time to tell you my hopes my dreams and what I feared all while you mastered the art of pretending as if you cared

You should have been honest with me from the start you would have still gotten what you wanted.

A Promise

Who
What
Destroyed
Your soft heart
Made it cold dark tart
It calls out begging a kick start
Love can be beautiful like a masterpiece of art
Please will you let me restart your heart i promise this time it will never come apart

Breeze and Fireworks

Pure white clouds
Pure fresh breeze
Breeze pass the dogs hunting for a scare
Breeze pass the trees
Trees smell of pine
Trees weighed down with snow
Snow raining down
Snow pelting the roof
Roof standing firm
Roof keeps us warm
Warm as the fire glows
Warm as we slumber
Slumber the animals sleep outside
Slumber ends as dawn breaks
Breaks out the door the children do
Breaks out tumbling me and you
You look at me with a warm smile
You see through me with your dreamy eyes
Eyes flutter open wide
Eyes peer into the darkness
Darkness floods the room
Darkness fades as the light glows
Glows the room as light fades in
Glows my skin as it feels the sun
Sun comes up over the Caribbean sea
Sun peeps through the coconuts and bananas
Bananas are sweet and delicious
Bananas must be in my breakfast
Breakfast is stew chicken and yams
Breakfast the best time of day
Day is cooled by a Christmas breeze
Day spent with family
Family makes life brighter
Family makes the holiday sweeter
Sweeter is the food at this time
Sweeter you get year by year
Year is almost over
Year goes as it arrives
Arrives by bus does the rest of the family
Arrives with suitcase full of gifts
Gifts for friends
Gifts for strangers
Strangers gather in the town
Strangers dance to the reggae sound
Sound of laughter and good cheer
Sound of fireworks
Fireworks sparkle and shine like a dream
Fireworks shoot up off and on
Dream…
On…

Need

Each touch of your hand is like ice on my warm skin, with each drop filling my soul
Your kisses are like air to my spirit, refreshing with each blow
Your words feed my heart, which skips a beat when you’re near
But pain fills my body love is driven away by fear as soon as I am not near you
The universe can’t hold our love, from corner to the corner
With the sky dressed in your eyes and the seas fill with my tears.

Troubled Bride

I hate seeing that lovely smile on your face
I hate the feeling I get in your warm embrace
I particularly don't like it when you kiss my hand
Just one of the many things about you i cant stand
I don't like when you do things for me
I really hate it when you make my favorite cup of tea
I really don't like the sound of this loud dance band
But i must admit i really do love my wedding band.

Understand

Why does love have to feel like a bullet in the head?
The feeling hits your body and leaves your soul for dead,
Most times it can feel like you’re flying above the heavens,
With nothing to stop you but the end of time,
But rarely just rarely it can feel like being in a room
Filled with darkness till you can’t breathe,
You can’t feel the sun on your skin but you know it shining,
How does love make someone give a life?
Then makes someone else take it away,
Some people beg for love to go,
Others hope and pray for it to stay,
Love is so elusive yet it’s in the palm of our hands
Just see it and feel it and soon you will be ringing wedding bells
Married to your love, your pain, your strife
And you will be happy because you understand why.

Flower

My mind is a blank canvas sitting on an easel in the dark
It’s quiet, there are no lights, no movements, no sound
Then I see a spark and then a splash of color,
Then I hear a soft low whistling sound
Then on ma canvas appears the most beautiful flower
With leaves of emerald and blossoms of amber
Then the sky is colored in so bright and clear
Then a tickle of my nose caused by wondering dander
My eyes open and my beautiful flower is you standing there.
