Joy Petten Poem
To you I am thankful,
for all that you give.
To you I owe this life thatI live.
You taught me to be all I can be.
Often I failed,
Yet you didnt give up on me.
In my life there will never be another,
To hold a candle to you , my dearest grandmother.

Joy Petten Poem
Open the window to thy heart,
Let out the bad,
Bring in a new start.
Thy life was once so dark and grey,
And sunshine seemed so far away.
I asked the lord to help me out,
Help me to trust him,
Take out the doubts.
I ask him to help me be all i can be,
And send a few angels to look after me.
My journey is long,
Im sure it's not the last.
High hopes of deliverance,
Take away thy bitter past.

Joy Petten Poem
Eyes of diamonds,
Heart of gold,
What darkness lies behind thee,
The secrets left untold.
We cant live in the past,
Look for a better tomorrow.
put on your happy face, cover up the sorrow.
Never let them see you down,
Wipe the tears from your eyes.
Help me to hang in there lord,
Give me strength for one more try...

Joy Petten Poem
Life is but a road,
In which we're forced to travel.
Some's are paved with gold,
While others dust and gravel.
Life is full of choices,
Its all decisions that we make,
At so young we form our destiny
and begin the path we'll take.

Joy Petten Poem
What are you doing,
How can this be?
Cant you see you've destroyed me,
Starving for acceptance,
Waiting for your love
Looking for some guidance from the man above.
How can you say you love me,
How can you say you care?
How can you say you've changed now,
And yet you're still not there.
The little girl still cries within,
The teenager still rebels
The woman you and mom created,
was doomed for a life of pain
Remember the song daddy's hands,
Who wrote it and why did they lie,
These are the questions I ask myself,
Can you tell me why daddy why?

Joy Petten Poem
Please help, they screamed
As Katrina impact their lives,
The floods gave no mercy,
They lost children and wives.
Families in shambles,
Thugs run the streets,
Cops took their lives,
For nature you cant defeat.
For everything there's a reason,
I know god has a plan,
He used this to open the eyes
and changed the hearts of man.
