Let Me Take You

Let me take you into the rains which stream into my heart
Show you the lightning flashing in my veins
You can listen to the thunder as we stand a world apart
Then I will bring you inside me
To remain

Inside of me you will find the silence of hills and valleys
Places you can wander in peaceful bliss
But you will still see that lightning flashing wildly
Hear crashing thunder in the magic
Of my kiss

You can tell me about the rains that stream into your heart
Show me the rocky mountains in your eyes
Together we will stand watching rain clouds part
As the lightening in our veins
Paints our skies

Take me inside of you so I can climb your mountains
The very thought brings me peaceful bliss
Together we will seek to fill love's own fountain
With the rain in our hearts'
Streaming kiss

Landscape

To one who’s name is written in the faint perfume upon my neck Your hands gently tend my landscape with their caress Each and every flower, you gracefully bedeck In the richest warmth of your undress You move your morning breezes into the darkness of my night Until I no longer know the season or present year Time is of no essence within my sight Of warmth or cold, I have no fear To one who’s name is written on every single line of my heart In your ink flowing from the radiance of our eternal sun Your hands tend my landscape in a world apart Marked on a calendar of none The cares of life, waft into silent pieces as they come to light When your morning breeze moves upon my flowers Each one you tend with your hand’s sight Forgets these cares of ours To one who’s name is written in my eyes as my master gardener My flowers will always seek the ink flowing from our sun My landscape will be your garden harbor From your breezes, I will never run Copyright *Neva Flores @2010

How Long Can You Hold Your Breath

Breathe, when thunder questions how long you can hold your breath
When clouds bring you to remember all of your mistakes
You will find inspiration, a drop of water to quench your thirst
The light in your eyes will shine as calmness you remake

Breathe, when your mind loses touch with the static of your energy
When there seems to be no lantern to light your way
You will begin to paint that picture of a sun which shines again
Watching joy run happily through the halls of your day

Breathe, when no happiness can you seem to ever find in your heart
When everything makes you feel worn down and hungry
You will begin to feel better in knowing that all hope is not lost
Roses will bloom, in the grand design, of your victory

Breathe, when you cannot remember the lessons you have learned
When all you can think about are the wolves at your door
Soon, your spirit will find comfort in a quiet solace there at play
Wondering what you were ever holding your breath in for

My Beginning

I broke the spell on my own, though its reach was far and wide
Even when you hid your face in your hands
I learned to sing louder
Until I had turned
The tide

I wondered if you ever thought of me or one kiss I gave to you
When you read all the words I wrote
Did they burn like pouring salt
Into an open wound
Of truth

I took a look at the coldest smile and found the warmest heart
Standing clear of the picture and its owner
Thought I broke the spell on my own
As I watched your fingers
Come apart

From a straight drop of a thousand feet, I found the spell's ending
Then tried to hide my heart in my own hands
But you only learned to sing louder
Until you had become
My beginning

Glorious Wings

I removed my glorious wings for just a while To walk about here on this ground Now I am so afraid to put them back on and fly again A terrible fear of heights I have suddenly found This whole charade is crumbling now all around my head As I quake in fear at the very thought of flight Yet I sit and look upon these wings of mine and long To take off and fly with all my might As I sit and stare at my wings the only sound I hear Is that of my own racing heart still beating In the stillness I stop and realize without my wings Myself I have been defeating I gather all the strength I know I hold inside of me And put my glorious wings back on With a cry of triumph heard around the world and back I spread my wings and I am gone

Idle Hands

She drew a small circle in the burning sands of time
To convey her vehement message of truth
A merit so worthy of honor and praise from the ones
Who gathered to survey her prelude

They watched as she tenderly touched each grain of sand
With her fingertips, so delicately fine
Each one holding their breath to see what would happen
Wondering if the circle would affect their own time

Each delicate movement, each brush of her fingers
Brought forth new triumphant sighs
As each relieved eye in the crowd looked and cheered on
When no change to themselves was applied

In one final swift movement she finished with flourish
The small circle she had drawn with her hands
And the world as they knew it disappeared into nothing
Like the sands of time, they allowed her to command

Becoming

Are you looking out the window of effortless perception Glancing with no interest at the ordinary land Planning a concise method of astounding metamorphosis Exacting some excitement in the plan Do you envision spaces filled with elegant contemplation Titillating predictions of delight Then polish and enhance your wings of gossamer Seize the very moment and take flight Soar into the gilded heavens with an optimistic smile Seeking out the challenge of the rare Flourish in the glowing essence on the edge of reality Taking hold of the potential, you find there A transformation of your spirit will unfold in conclusion As you soar into the depths of your plan An astounding metamorphosis has taken place inside Sculpted by the imagination at your command

Complete

You kiss the light in the fragrant air and free its sweet perfume
Looking for a place to spark my colors ever changing
I hear the most beautiful things you say
Wrapped in a warm blanket
My skin consumes

I whisper promises to the clouds up high above the sunlight
Hoping love sends me a storm my eyes can meet
I have not felt this way in forever
Desire given here is sounder
Because it's right

You tame those places in me where patience is speechless
When I hear you say the most beautiful things
Until I disclose my colors ever changing
Unwrap myself from this blanket
Shining like Venus

You kiss my colors with the iridescence of your own promises
Sending a storm my eyes cannot help but meet
When I hear the beautiful things you say
I want to feel this way forever
To be complete

Shield

You can see a fiery stream of delayed concern Scattered carelessly in the emotion In the exaggerated encircling of compassion Shown as false proof in bits of devotion Spontaneous flickers of suspended movements Oblivious to thought or care Briefly promise to abolish the damage imparted Yet never quite honor anything there You question the sequence of disgraceful events With a pleading silent look in your eyes To find yourself under siege by the fiery stream As your honesty discloses their lies Create a severing of ties with the fiery stream By the slightest move of your hand Shunning the counterfeit display of compassion Placing your protective shield in command

Lake of Silver Glass

Elegantly drifting along on a lake of silver glass
Stunning visions grace my view
Of Weeping Willows hung with purple moss
Resplendent in their royal hue

A taste of crisp morning air greets my face
From lazy clouds slowly rolling in
I can hear the softest splash from a lily pad
As a bullfrog’s day begins

Gliding by the hollow reeds, I hear whispering
Calling out, pick me and let’s play
A song of sentiment to capture every heart
Listening to our lovely cabaret

Up ahead in the distance, I can barely see
The sandy banks of my shore
Yet I never wish to leave my lake of silver glass
Why can I not just stay here forevermore?
