Pslam of a Christian

My Lord is my reliance, sole
He claimed a body that a mother scorned
His termoil testifies me whole
His spirit has me not forlorn

Yet satan deigns to me instruct
My every path must he obstruct
With a ruthless tongue
He devices wrong
And counts upon my every fault
Every virtue to assult

And so I seek my death with zeal
My death like hidden goods I seek
A broken temple bears my sovereign's seal
Son of David mild and meek.
Jesus heal me who am weak.

A Prayer

My prayers I offer, Lord
They are like incenses brimming heavenly casks
Might is in your words
Aided, I rivers ford
Gratify us children as we ask

A long diseased child
A mother's arms released me at your hands
Garments long defiled
That mortal men reviled
Your arms enclosed, a beautious garland

An undeserved prize
My tattered garments smother in light
Uncompensated cries
That world did but despised
You did not deem so little in your sight

For yours I am by right.

Life Is a Banquet

Midst a banquet as life defined
Where careless pleasures are consumed
And at the table children dine

Midst a banquet as life defined
Where steps in muted servitude
Rush to aid a mirth refined

A famished cur desires crumbs!
And midst a banquet, as life defined
I grin, complacent, rendered dumb!

The Test

The Test

A tortured faltering shell I clutch
The heart of radiant night to tread
By vain fingertips untouched
Rare is dark's disheveled head

The pungent stench of sweet decay
Night succumbs with a bitter taste
Must such a delicacy waste?
Or else a ravished heart indulge?

A collar stiff and buttons firm!
As the river laughes in its drunken fits
To all dreams, shameless, boast confirmed!

How often have I lain within
With dust's affinity to dust!
Merciful Lord, my eternal fate
Pray seal from insistent beckoning rust!

Laments, Lady of Charlotte, To Lancelot

In the garbage lilies may bloom
Yet in its odor will always loom
Faint traces of its abused past
Wounds may fade but traces last

Had heaven pity on this fool
And struck her down dead where she lay
That she did not see another day
Mourned in loss and wasted away

If I tore out these eyes of mine
And blinded to the sight divine
That caught my eyes, I will not sin
By yearning love not mine to keep

When I first tasted love’s venom
How enflamed passions burnt anew
Love pulsed through my soul, a fiery hue
Yet overcomes now solemn Fate,
I am innocent no more.
I will ne’er be what I was before

I depart now, wretched heart
From the remainders of my waste
In hopes that in my death regain
What love I sought and sought in vain

Your lady fair sure owns your heart
Yet your remorse mine for evermore
In the shadows I will meet thee
In your darkest hours to greet thee
Midst deadly silence, fancies free me
Whisper, but my name, you’ll see me…

A Celestial Mother's Belly Grows

A celestial mother's belly grows
Her precious burden shows
Yet of the youth to leave her care
She is most unaware

He vanquished evil, death defied
Healed diseases, conquered lies
To, in his direst moment call;
"It is done"

The Cross

A sinner's cross I climb
In derision planted, dry
His tracks undried yet lingers clean
I drench in remorse serene

Vinegar I lap
Vinegar his lips declined
In a corner lonley life expelled
I shall, into the host, incline

Midst merciless foreign eyes
A body dishonored falls
Harsh, the sentence to my guilt
My Jesus, embrace this soul.

Wordsworth

A voice perfection has conceived
Where once a fledgling had perceived
Divine an ingenuity
I now have found humanity

Yet pulses through Great Britain's veins
Your lasting boyish innocence
All I've struggled to obtain
A child's heart was its penitence

Of old perceiver, you are now portrayed
By cruder hands. Oh untainted mind!
Your rhyme and verse relentless time has weighed
Yet found have I a heart behind.

The Great Caesarean Splendor

The great Caesarean splendor
And his roaring empire's reign
Fleeting things be mortal hopes
May a monument remain?

Daedalus, Ah Daedalus
Lend your feathers toward the sky
Adonai, my God on high
Faith with holy flames reward!

Strikes a stone, a stone
Iron and clay to dust subdue
To cruder substance enamoured
A mask of gold embraces sod
A silent elegy.

The Lord's kingdom shall forever reign

Amen

Tis a Child That Ever Deems

Tis a child that ever deems
That immortal truth should live in dreams.
Integrity men most do brag
The days consume to threadbare rags

Virtues stressed and sane to uphold
Falters, burdened, and waxes cold
Tis a child that ever deems
That immortal truth should live in dreams.

Jesus is the only way
Strike me not while I have my say.
