Real Sad, Real Glad

It's sad,
It's real sad,
They said that you were bad
You say there's no lies,
That black eye says otherwise
Please don't give in,
Don't commit the sin
Just the phrase,
"What happens in here stays in here"
And you punch the wall
It's sad,
It's real sad,
You used to be a good kid
Had all A's everyday
Must've lost it when they said,
"Go away"
Had a smile so sweet
Must've lost it when the said,
"Shut up, or you'll get beat"
I'm glad,
I'm real glad,
You came to me, see
I got you through this nightmare
There's peace here, with me
I'll forever and always care
With me, you will never fall
Please don't give in
Don't commit sin
Find your faith in the Lord

Run Away, Away From Childhood Abuse

Turn around, face me
You yelled as my walk became a run
Don't know what I'm running from,
Run from something worth chasing, I go
My heart beat, it just won't slow
Why the hell are you standing there?
Thinking, 'should I care?'
It doesn't mean a thing to me
I know I don't hold your heart's key
Build me up, break me down,
Tell me the truths, tell me the lies
Be the abused, be the abuser
Run!
til I finally see the sun
Run!
til I've finally won
I can't tell you exactly where I'm headed
But I won't let myself be sedated
Your drunk, false moments of "affection",
Have been forgotten in the haze of my affliction
My feet move on their own
You will no longer chill me to the bone
Soon I will feel the warmth of the sun
Now I know, this is why I
Run!
