Boys To Men

Liking the first girl they see
This is the age seven
Liking the second girl they meet
This is the age eleven
Dreaming all day everyday
About the girl of your dreams
Then you snap back to reality
As your mother yells come eat
Getting to school early
To meet the girl of your dreams
You know she doesn’t like you
Though it may seem
Between the both of you
It’s a love hate relationship
You may not be together
But you have a good friendship
It will take forever
It may even take your whole life
No matter how long it takes
She will be your wife
So you go home
And you play with your toys
I just described to you
The life of a boy
Its twenty years later
You’re now thirty-one
The girl of your dreams married you
Once you said she’s the one
Compare her pictures from then to now
They may look like a disgrace
Before she was a sweet pretty girl
Now bruises cover her face
If you look at your hands
Their covered with marks
But they’re not defending marks
They’re attacking marks
We look at you now
We see someone other
You’ll be on a woman
But won’t touch her brother
You’re a big man
She is smaller than you
What once were pretty eyes
Are now black and blue
She cries every night
But you don’t seem to care
Something should have told you to stop
Once you saw that first tear
There is no reason why you hit her
Maybe because you were drunk
This is not a boys to men story
Its boys to punks

I'Ll Stand By You

Why do you look so sad?
Tears are in your eyes
You can lean on my shoulder
Don’t be ashamed to cry
I will be there for you
I’ll see you through
Because I’ve been where you are
I’ve seen the dark side too
When pressure rings down on you
You don’t know what to do
Nothing you can say to me
Will make me lose faith in you
I won’t let anybody hurt you
Not as long as I’m here
I will always protect you
Like I’m your own little bear
So if you’re angry get angry
Don’t hold it inside
Come on now
You can not hide
I’ll do what you do
I’ll get angry too
And that’s why I can help you
I’m just like you
I will follow you into the darkest night
Make sure you still stand
I’ll walk right by your side
And hold on to your hand
As you look straight ahead
And see your future
You will see me there too
As my heart becomes yours
When you’re stuck between two paths
Don’t know which to choose
Let me come along, because even if your wrong
I’ll stand by you

Loved To Death

Five years together
And still going strong
But you made mistakes
And its love gone wrong
Remember the first time we met
It was the fifth of June
I gave you my number
And said call me soon
You called me the next day
We went out on a date
Everything was perfect
You weren’t even late
I thought to myself
This must be it
You drove me home
And gave me a good night kiss
That was five years ago
Nothing was the same since then
I cry every night
‘Cause you made my heart bend
I came home one night
With a new bracelet on my wrist
You said who gave it to me
And raised your fist
Then I was on my way to the hospital
That’s all I knew
With a bad concussion
And an eye that was black and blue
The trouble didn’t end there
But we continued to love
One time it was black and blue
The other time, there was blood
June 5th 2009
Out fifth anniversary
But I wasn’t there
I had to leave
To find me
Go to a place where there is lumber
But don’t look hard
I’m buried six feet under
I lay there peacefully
Getting my rest
And how did I get there
You loved me to death

I Heard the Screams

I heard the screams
I heard them loud and clear
Then I heard and angry growl
Almost like a bear
You live across the street from me
I saw you crying
Just tell the truth
And stop all of this lying
The proof is there
You can’t cover it up
Remember we use to talk
We talked it up
I can see the pain
I see right through you
You use to light up the room
Now you’ve made me blue
I can see the tears about to pour
Like water from a waterfall
Wipe your eyes
And get off the floor
You do not know who you are
You do not understand what you mean
What you mean to your family
What you mean to me
You are my best friend
Well, you use to be
Until he hurt you so bad
You had to leave
Justice will be served
Count on me
I’ll help you
I heard the screams
