ADHD

My brain and my heart are submissive to ADHD,
I’m not sure what version of this is really me,
I’m knocking on the door and there’s five of them,
All of which are made of the same tree,
I can’t help but ponder him,
Which one is reality?
The door opens finally with a warm smile,
A shy guy with a mirror for a face,
Reflecting a poor fellow who’s been gone a while,
Tell me why I’ve been replaced?
The answer comes through a hymn,
Behind the next door that I chase,
A beautiful voice without a trace,
It’s tugging the strings of my heart,
Keeping me alive like the ones on a guitar,
I didn’t understand it then,
When I took everything for granted,
There’s another knock at the door,
It’s my feet on the floor,
Why is my head in the clouds when I’m planted to the ground?
I decided to lay down, I can’t do this anymore,
Suddenly I’m falling backwards through the door frame,
I’m on my back looking at the sky where my head has been,
Into focus comes a set of hazel eyes,
She takes my hand and to my surprise,
Once again I hear the hymn,
Is she really this into me?
My head no longer feels like lead,
No longer do I feel like laying in bed,
Through the final door,
Follow me, she said,
I feel the wind on my face,
The clouds are done,
I can feel her warm embrace,
Followed by the breath of the sun,
Finally I open my eyes,
As I’m getting a lay of the land,
She caught me daydreaming again,
And I didn’t hear a single thing she said.
