Sinners Waltz

In this vast void of existence, we stand,
Hearts bleeding out, met with the back of a hand.
Alone we stagger in life's endless night,
Chasing shadows, devoid of respite.

We drift, lifeless shells, in an aimless march,
Haunted by silence, under heaven's starched arch.
Bound by ancestral chains, heavy and severe,
I ache for release, for the end to draw near.

We're tethered to a world that cares not for our strain,
Our essence cast into the void, our struggles in vain.
Directionless, we flounder between high and nether,
In life's cruel jest, peace is a tethered feather.

His crown, a distant whisper of hope’s demise,
In its absence, our worth under leaden skies.
I'd embrace the void for a sliver of right,
Than bask in the hollow glow of the commonplace light.

For in the pursuit of that elusive spark,
I find solace in the embrace of the dark.
A sinner's waltz, a hollow, echoing song,
In the dance of despair, is where we belong.

Nocturn of the Alone

Drifting in silence, no haven in sight,
Alone in the crowd, under the pale moonlight.
Whispers of home, now ghosts in the wind,
A solitary journey, with no beginning or end.
Love's sweet chorus, a forgotten song,
In its absence, nights feel so long.
Trusting hearts led astray, left to fray,
In the echo of promises that faded away.
Hollow echoes fill spaces where hope used to dance,
Now shadows embrace me, in a cold, empty trance.
Tears to the heavens, a silent plea,
"Is there solace for a soul lost at sea?"
Joy, a distant flicker, elusive and slight,
In the vast void, I'm a lone, flickering light.
Time marches on, yet I stand still,
A prisoner of solitude, against my will.
A specter in life's grand masquerade,
Where once was fire, now only shade.
In the silence, my heart's quiet cries,
As I wait for dawn, where no sunrise lies.

Hurt Again

She was like the softest clouds,
On a warm, sunlit day.
Standing out in any crowd,
In a celestial way.

Unsure how to cope,
With a loss so profound.
Yet within, there's false hope,
Things might turn around.

My past reveals unworthiness,
My love, though given, meets only hurt.
I regret offering up my heart's fortress,
For each time it's done, I'm left in the dirt.

I wish our paths had never crossed,
Yet love for you remains, it's true.
Why did you leave me to be lost
In these deep, dark blues?

Unbearable Heartbreak

The pain in my heart threatens to be my end,
I sought to show the 'me' that God did intend.
Yet, silenced I stand, to the skies, I relent,
"Your will, not mine," my whispered consent.

Hunger ignored, sleep's sweet embrace denied,
Like a treasured vase, now broken and defied.
Familiar with fragments, a constant state of disrepair,
Yet breaking because of you was more than I could bear.

I find myself at fault again, an echo of my past,
God seems to be the steadfast when nothing else will last.
Was my love not sufficient? My soul starts to question,
Is it wrong to give my all, to make my heartfelt confession?

Am I the villain for unburdening my soul?
"Why is life a journey through a deep, darkened hole?"
On this bleak and barren day, the rain whispers of dismay.
The devil, a lurking thief, stole my heart and slinked away.

Swallowing this bitter pill, a truth hard to follow,
I hope to reclaim my heart from the hollow.
Now I sit in the quiet, while God and angels attempt,
To quiet the screams of my soul, vehemently unkempt.

Too Late

Far from this place,
Where peace escapes,
He ran, lost in the race,
No one cared for his fate.

Death's beckoning touch,
Drew him near,
His grave, a sanctuary,
Where mercy did appear.

All he had, a distant memory,
A broken story, filled with pain and agony,
Scars ran deep, far beneath the surface,
Yet he felt worthless, in vain.

Gone he'll be, and they'll cry, questioning the heavens, with dampened eyes.
Blind to the facade he wore, his soul vacant, his chamber lies.

But now they care, too late to show,
One last bow, as the lights lose their glow,
Into the abyss of nothingness,
In his eyes, a relief, better than living.

Goodbye, the only words he could say,
For on this day, he passed away.

Elegy of the Night

In the quiet depth of our shared despair,
You vanished into the cool night air.
My soul cried out, in the stillness, for thee,
Yearning for the comfort only you could guarantee.

The Vow of Sobriety

Bottles and glasses, left to stand,
As time slips through like grains of sand.
Often adrift, in a half-conscious sea,
This life of escape, it isn't for me.

Emotions submerged, a silent tide,
Demons within, in darkness, they hide.
Endless battles, wear me thin,
Against this foe, I cannot win.

You've stripped away the friends I knew,
My soul you've scarred, no recompense due.
You dragged me under, a sinking trend,
No more pretense, this is the end.

I've fled from feelings, part of my plan,
But I'm choked by the depths, like the ocean's span.
Now the fog lifts, I finally see,
The person I'm meant, truly to be.

Today I stand, with resolve I say,
I'll turn from alcohol, come what may.
Its hold is broken, I'm no longer bound,
A new chapter starts, a new self found.

One Redeemer

In life's relentless gale, I stand frail,
Each strike kindles a storm of wail.
Through sleepless nights, I roam in grief,
As love's illusion fades, like a withering leaf.

The peace of heaven, a distant dream,
In the clutches of despair, I silently scream.
For Thee, my soul aches to soar,
But deceit and mourning are my core.

Yet, in the abyss of surrender, I find a spark,
Your whispered words cut through the dark.
With arms wide to the dawning sky,
I seek redemption, my final cry.
