Pillars

I stand here still
In the stillness of the night
What have we been
Have we been through
I wonder now
Every morning a new day
I am glad you chose to stay

Whispers, softly call
Manifold shapes
A heart of gold
I can be sure
That we grow old
Just so much
To be learned and told

You shine
You grow
I see the spheres
Of significance
I see the pillars
Of consistency
Ordeals and provocations
Our best aspirations
You shine
You grow
I’m in temptation
And in flow

So long
So long ago
Give me esteem
And I paint a wonderwork
A raging stream
That can be heart
All along through valleys
And over mountains
Hold on tight
You might be trembling
But we make it through each night
We are not forlorn
Nor restless
And I kiss you every day
And tell you that I love you
There is so much to be said
And alas so much
To remain silent about
In good times
And in times of fraud
The heavens rise
In a burning cloud

How come the age ends every story

Feel the innocence of the moment
Feel the laughter
You’re the one
That I look after
Feel the pressure
Trembling
In the halls
Unending
The morning dawning
One last day
A useless warning
There’s no use
In endless walking
There’s so much hope
That has been stolen
How come the sage
Have stopped their talking
Is this a stage
Some means of glory
How come the age
Ends every story
How come the age
Ends every story

Feel the innocence of the moment
Feel the laughter
You’re the one
That I look after
Feel the distance
Fading
There’s so much heat
Devastating
There’s so much need
In eyes of strangers
Who cannot see
Who’s been courageous
Who cannot be
In iron cages
We must not fear
All that awaits us
How come the sage
Have stopped their talking
Is this a stage
Some means of glory
How come the age
Ends every story
How come the age
Ends every story

Alina

And I think of you Alina
In a dream I can’t recall
There are thousand oceans waiting
And I’m waiting on that call

On the bounds of my defenses
Far from hunger, far from pain
Don’t know where I’m going
There’s no reason to explain

I have stumbled and I triggered
Every fiber of my soul
That was lost in the illusion
The long gone before the fall

And I think of you Alina
There were times when I was sure
That life would lead me to you
Now I just try to ignore

Some may fear the fire
I’m not that easy to impress
Today the light’s a little brighter
Though that might be just a guess

I can see you dancing somewhere
There are nights I do recall
And I hope that one day
You’ll be my daughter after all

The Calmness of the Heart - Part II

Don’t believe what everyone believes
But what you understand
Don’t be part of an entirety
Which is not part of yourself
Dare to dream and to disappoint
Don’t do what is expected from you
But what you don’t even expect from yourself
Listen to people
But don’t admire them
Respect experience
For it possesses a precious value
Share your own experience
With the inexperienced
Without dictating to them
For they only take what they need
Accept the unknown
Without deploring it
For in the eyes of the unknown
You are a stranger yourself
Don’t close the door to it
For transformation
Comes when you doubt what is familiar
Accept our own finitude
Acknowledge that we are not in possession
Of the absolute truth
And thus, our truth is part of a far greater truth
Delight in the mysteries of life
As life delights in your curiosity
And only be content
Once your heart has found fulfilment
Don’t reach out to the one
Who decides to lie on the ground
For this person will only debilitate you
Without understanding
Realize that we are responsible
For saving ourselves
And it is not cruel
To walk on
Yet reach out to the one
Who needs and accepts your help
Not for your own sake
But in the knowledge that
They will help you in return
Should it be you who is lying on the ground
Don’t give without taking
No one is a hero
Forgetting themself out of sheer giving
Don’t seek fame
Nor power nor money
For those come as fast
As they go
And poison your mind

Take up the struggle
Even in yourself
And be aware of your capabilities
Don’t be someone you aren't
For a duty
Carried out for whatever noble purpose
And not exploiting your full potential
Is a waste of time in the end
Don’t try to change the world
But change yourself
For this works much faster and easier
Don’t criticise the deeds of others
But suggest possibilities
Of how to do it better
For the critic principally
Often forgets on principle
That the world doesn’t get better
By simply being against it
Be yourself
For this is what it’s all about in the end

The butterfly

The butterfly is full of wonder
To see the world from near and far
He has a heart as rolling thunder
Blazed like the evening's brightest star
He likes to roam in kingdoms swaying
Like cracked singers' fearless praying
As air’s unchallenged superstar

The fires that I feared

The fires that I feared
How they seem to warm me now
I whisper softly into the night
How I wished you’d hear me now
Take the bow of my confession
Take the words I long to share
Light my morning with your presence
Light my soul with your care
Be the thought that never tires
When your voice speaks oh so clear
From these lips that are a promise
To a day I wished was near

The Calmness of the Heart - Part I

Talk to me about love
Talk to me about the mere sense of being
Talk to me about truth
For only what comes from the heart
Can we love
Talk to me about forgiveness
Talk to me about patience
Talk to me about understanding
For everyone has their reasons
Love yourself without being loved by others
Don’t claim to be loved
For loved are only those
Who proved themselves worthy
Accept that life’s pleasures
Can only develop from pain
And learn to see it as a friend
Don’t place yourself above others
Nor control them
Nor force your opinion upon them
For we are all of the same blood
And no one is superior to the other
Whichever post they may ever hold

Talk to me about hatred
Talk to me about oppression
Talk to me about bloodshed
For what is part of your life
Is part of the whole world
Talk to me about weakness
Talk to me about greed
Talk to me about fear
Without feeling embarrassed
Talk to me about your darkest fantasies
Yet keep to yourself what seems wrong to you
And walk hand in hand with your doubts
Through valleys so desperate
And over heights so bright
And only stop
When you have found your answers
Yet never be sure to know the answer
Grasp that you are never lost
However dark it may be in your heart
Learn from those who are poor
For they possess the most

One nation

We have to forgive
The grave histories we have
The blood we shed
We have to forgive our enemies
Though it is so hard to take
We have to be awake
We have to be true to ourselves
Follow our hearts
And give love
Instead of hate
It is our fate

We have to see
Where we can help
Be a thorn that doesn’t prick
And our latest trick
Is to stay positive
And don’t give up
To fill the cup

We have to end those wars
That only destroy and harm
We have to send our prayers
And disarm

We have to see each other as one family
This planet is one
We have to fight greed and injustice
Give no one a reason to hurt or kill
Have our own free will

We have to protect our nature
And support the tribes
Who are closest to our lands
The richness of this planet is for everyone

We need a system that is fair
Not be ruled by money and profit
Trade should connect us
And not only be in favour of the rich
No one should be forced to snitch
That is why we have to
Fight poverty and starvation
Be one nation

Ever beating heart

Stones in motion
A valley trembling
I see the notion
An ever ending
Has there been rest
It is still pending
When it arrived
I stopped pretending

I take a breath
The sun is shining
The sum of all fears was
My ever lightning
We are just
A lightyear apart
And I feel in my heart
That tomorrow
Brings a new twist
That the old days
No longer endure

I've been there before
This is nothing new
Was there a cure
That we barely knew
The signs they were true
The echos start trembling
The thoughts are assembling
So when we are through
There is a new morning
The ever after
There is wisdom
And there is laughter

So much still hidden
So much we barely know
And what was forbidden
Is now there to show

We have to be patient
A change comes in time
The older they knew
From hard work came grime

I take a breath
The sum of all fears was
A lightyear apart
Now I caress
My ever beating heart

The fight

Those are crucial moments
When the intensity rises
When you don’t know
If tomorrow dies
Or you rise

I can see myself calling for shelter
I can see myself greeting the new morning
I know we might loose it all
Or win this last battle

I wish, so siege is the only option
Because loosing the fight
Is not solving the problem

I always fantasised about oh so many mornings
About oh so many longings
You might see me as one of many
And we are strong enough to conquer
The hearts of the psychopaths
The hearts of those old people

I am not saying this was foreseen
There simply is no other way
And to renew this world
There is no alternative
Than to paint it all in colourful colours
To see each and every detail
Through the lense of our knowledge
Of our wisdom
Of our hearts
We are far too many
To loose this fight
