Years of the Rose

Have I not heard the calling of day's gone by
or sat in careless prose and wondered why?
but years are as the rose
which are but reflections
that no one person knows-

I have sought with wonder
the diamonds in your eyes
but when the memories came
as falling rain
I couldn't help but cry
for my soul was wracked with pain-

The beauty of your heart
is always mine to keep
and knowing so much loss
each day I cannot help but weep-

But hold you close I always will
the beautiful star you are
for I know that no matter how far
each day I will love you still-

'' My verse was inspired by the lessons I have learned in this life....A canvass with so many colors, a book with so many blank pages, Let me be as the rain and nourish those I touch with my writing"

The Wanton Rose

Veiled tears that shroud the night
amongst the thorns of beauteous light
the wanton rose that beholds her grief
lost and forlorn n this ageless keep-

Whispered of rain, wind, and sand
breathless thoughts in an ancient land
oracles of time that see her pain
listen to her heart, and invoke the rain-

Angels carry her on golden light
caress the dawn with merciful night
upon the wings of bloodstained cries
immersed in shadows that never die-

But once amongst the sea and sand
amongst the rose, the river free
born of golden days of silver sun
came the greatest man to ever be-

To one woman he gave new life
he kissed her heart and made
her his wife-
She thought of him as the stars above
her heart could not contain
all the endless love
her life for him
on the wings of a dove-

Through the Years

Little baby boy
sweet child of mine
on the day you were born
my heart to you was given
eternally for all time-

Perfection you were
and are to this day
may sadness never know you
this each day I pray-

So many dreams for you
I always wanted to come true
my sweet saving grace
only God knew-

Each day my son to grow
may laughter and sunshine
you always know-

I will always be here
even in rain
my love is undying
and will never change-

~ This was written for my two beautiful sons...and even though they may not realize it
they have and always will be my most infinite inspirations~

Thy Ceridwen

Thou ceridwen
beautiful and most fair
seek thy knowledge
in the witches lair-

Keeper of wisdom
poetry and creed
magic moonlight
carrier of the ravens seed-

Creirwy, Morfan and Taliesin
blessed children that you are
gifts from the Gods
as fallen stars-

But my son Morfan
his fate so sad
to look upon his
countenance really bad-

A brew I made
for my dear son
so the people
my child they would not shun-

A year and a day
so long to make
but with my words
inclusion his heart
to take-

But my servant I sent
to watch over the brew
foolish mistake
for in doing this
of the potion he did take-

A rabbit he turned into
and I a greyhound
silently gave chase
without making a sound-
So he became a fish
and into the river he went
I an otter
his life now spent-

Foolish he turned into a bird
so I became a hawk
never getting weary
not saying a word-

Tired as he was
into a grain of corn
he became
he should have realized
he would never be the same-
For I in my wisdom
became a hen
eating the corn
in the sinners den-

Nine months later
a child was born
I weary and worn
but to him I could
not make myself kill
so I wrapped him in cloth
and threw him in the water
that maybe he might have a chance
at life still-

Found he was
and so lived he
to become the Poet
Taliesin virtuous and free
a great writer
he shall be known for
all eternity-

Ever Near

I do not want the years
to never sing to me
prayers within my soul
bitterness doth free-

I want time to be ever near my heart
so that I may keep you close
from your memory
never have to part-

For if I keep you there
safe within my soul
no rain can ever hurt me
life's entities I know I can bear-

Shadows of you walk with me each day
at night hold me close
if I never let you go
with me you will always stay-

Dawn's Discretion

Why hast thou oh white night
given self to infliction of pain?
Reverently you seek the inner sanctum
of divinity's last reign-

Greatness inscribed on vastness of
bloodless discretion-
Where is the garden of yesterday's feast
of golden friends?
Hath the dawn of rebirth silent and demure
given naught to fates decree-

I live yet to die
but death is but a dream
on the sea of remorse
Each day silver raindrop tears
sheltered by the crystalline knowledge
of you-

So I am given to memories
and my last dance
a chance to light the path
of golden conception
through which the door
of all my yesterdays
give way to new life
Have you been born yet?
Are you alive?

This poem was written and inspired by (E. E.) Cummings who is one of my all time favorite
poets. He invokes not just the mind but the spirit of all those who read his writings

Truly Me

Misery me, thoughtless he
            shattered thoughts savage free
my life shaking as a ship at sea
silently calling all the powers that be
then understanding comes to my heart
I know we will never truly be apart
for life and death are as one
as the moon which gives life to sun
I now stand and wait for you
our days together so brief and few
            where did thou go
            sadness to my heart bestow
I love you always more than
            thou could ever know.
            shattered thoughts savage free
my life shaking as a ship at sea
silently calling all the powers that be
then understanding comes to my heart
I know we will never truly be apart
for life and death are as one
as the moon which gives life to sun
I now stand and wait for you
our days together so brief and few
            where did thou go
            sadness to my heart bestow
I love you always more than
            thou could ever know.

Self's Journey

Laughter lives in starry nights
for tears are cried beauteous night
given sanction of childish fears
knowing not shelter is near-

Journey within self
time unto an end
broken heights of shattered dreams
rainless nights did send-

Fortuitous heart that speaks a lie
knowing not reason or even why
rivers of sin that sail in my mind
keeper of mercy
born again to die-

City of my birth
awaken to dawn
freedom death in a kiss
forever haunted
by memories as this-

The Little Girl

The little girl all alone
her footprints stain the
sands of time
for which life
cannot atone-

Misery was her only friend
sadness the only thing
that fate would send-

All the pain she shouldn't feel
hope long lost
this agony real-

Why was she born
if to know only tears?
How could she sustain
each day all her fears?

But one day as her sorrow fell
as diamonds to rain
came a beautiful angel
to assuage all her pain-

Embraced now in radiant, golden light
no more darkness or endless night-

Bereft and lost she will be no more
in Gods garden to forever soar-

Emerald as her Irish eyes
her body broken
but her soul to never die-

The little girl now a star
in Heavens glory
midnights keeping
her ageless story-

Remember Thou

Whilst in memories
I give not
to my heart
ever in sweet
rememberances thou
and thy love
ever apart-

Thou countenance my shadow
forbearance my song
no recognizance thy soul
inclusion of pain
thou maketh
me whole-

Embrace thou
thy keeping
loves sweet content
thou knowest
not weeping-
