Paper

I am what I meet in
My mirror; a reflection
Of perception, an idea
That’s me. I am a bunch
Of parts, named like
Constellations of stars
Real enough but labels all
The same. I am me and this;
Fleshy bipedal creature
That snorts and dozes and
Walks and talks and wonders
About, well everything.
I am a legacy of things gone
Before; the result of aeons
Of complex activity, of which
I am ignorant. I am what comes
Before things that will happen
Of which I am ignorant. I am a
Paper boat, riding a stream
Catching glimpses of dreams
That pass me by as I soak it
Up so much that I dissolve
And finally die!

Everything

The mind and universe confide. Between
Them, they are one. Like lovers devoted.
They share fluctuations on an ocean
Wave, washing mindful shores, to redeem
Those sparkling pearls, that have formed along.
Pearls of wisdom and love, confounding one
On sands that motion to and fro, unseen.
Like lovers they, the mind and universe
Converge – inseparable – beholding
One another. Cosmic thoughts emerge
Like bubbles on the ocean waves, changing
Detailed rhythms – familiar all the same.

Together, they hear a song; they dance as
Lovers do – mirroring both reflections.

Beat Out the Rhythm

[NOTE:This is just a bit of silly fun]

Beat out this rhythm baby,
You can surely do it baby,
Beat out this rhythm to the clock!

Beat out this rhythm baby,
There’s no room in it, for maybe,
Do it, with a goofball in a sock!

There, is no room for error,
We can pull this off together,
Beat out our rhythm with your sock!

If you feel you cannot play,
Try it out, another day,
Our rhythm will, never cease to shock!

So:
Beat out our rhythm baby,
There’s no room in here for maybe,
Never mind those people who will mock!

Beat out the rhythm baby,
Do it like your acting crazy,
Smash up everything that’s in the shop!

Words

Walk with me for a while
And listen to my words
That fall like rain and
Drench the ground we pace

Talk with me for a mile
And I will watch your words
Spread like butterflies
On this road we grace

Brilliance comes in many ways
In words, in smiles, in deeds
But the greatest brilliance
Blinds the eye and
Dazzles make shift needs

Words they fall like petals
They carpet all the ground
And in the end their
Blown away and
Gone without a sound

Brazen Heart

Of love there is no antidote nor cure,
A brazen heart knows nothing of the hand,
That guides this Cupid arrow fair and pure,
And pierces through with art that soul can stand.
Of choice the soul knows nothing to begin,
As seeds that scatter aimlessly on clay,
Some grow and flourish unbeknown to him,
That stalks the Earth oblivious and grey.
Confounded he, who is awakened so,
From anaesthetic binding dark as night,
When true love strikes and soul begins to glow,
He see’s a Universe that’s blazing bright.

And brazen heart is smelted down to flesh,
And nourished through with all of loves relish.

Truth

I try to draw a map of the universe in my mind
With language that cannot be accurate in any sense
I try to draw the map with images moons, doors, passages
But these are ravaged by the passing of thoughts in my head
Instead with words I try to paint my dreams moons, doors, passages
It seems, that nothing can define any semblance of a truth
For there is no truth, just things that are said.

Mystic Tampering.

Some ancient wisdom
Doth behold; a parabolic
To unfold. Mathematics to
Delight ; resemble crescent
Moon at night! The alchemy
In this I see; a medieval
Fantasy . Behold the dragons
Tooth and claw; from it,
Power I will draw. Mystic
Names are writ in clay; and
Swept away before the
Day. Squalid squawks that
Screech the sky; bring chills
Into the heart that lies.
Fingers bony, nails that
Split; do stir the cauldron
With some spit. “Hail my
Demon, come to me”; if
You indulge my fancy free!
Thus I challenge, this bleak
World; what’s real I order
Inward curl. Tumble down
And thus reform; a universe
“Reductio ad Absurdum “
Is reborn!

Being Yours

How can I tell you
In so convincing a way
That I am yours
I could tell your eyes with my lips
Your shoulders with my breath
Your tummy with my cheek
Your bosom with my embrace

I could whisper in your ear
Massage your feet
Sponge warm water on your back
Stroke my fingers along your contours

I could listen to you without saying anything
And love you

Yes I am yours my lovely

Transformation

Was it illusion, was it a dream?
That Garden in moonlight , ink
Dark sky. A single cloud like a
Razor passing. Black tree stretched
High and it’s claws scratched the
The milky way.Rectangular pond
Black as crude oil deadly still, I
Kneel and gaze deep within; like
Narcissus enamoured and
Transformed. A door into
Summer opens, blinding light
And in one stroke, my Garden
Is no more.

Economic Sonnet

Note : as an experiment i took a random article from the newspaper and extracted phrases from it to eventually form this sonnet. A fun exercise!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Economic purists say, relief should,
Never have been given in the first place.
Whether that is true or not, perception,
Has always been politically good.
Sensitive issues, as they have and could,
Ever been percieved as assisting in grace.
Relief to be aboloshed! Reflection –
Affordability is understood.

However, now it is to be removed,
People shouldn’t get alarmed, the market
Change to this would deem, respite is disproved.
Any mortgage taken out – we regret.
For seven tax years by that date – and yet
We believe this is the case – hmmm, approved!
