Something To Think About

Something to Think About

I find myself in my mind.
Day in and Day out.
My heart may be sore or happy.
Not sure of who I am.
The days are filled with wonder.
Laughter of a child fills the air.
Yet, my mind has something to think about.
The world may be seen through rose colored glasses.
How the sun shines, the moon rises.
Stars twinkling in the black skies.
My mind finds something to think about.
A first kiss so sweet.
Awaiting the birth of my granddaughter.
Each day brings something new.
Flowers in bloom on a sun kissed morning.
Sounds of the whippoorwill calling.
Thoughts never stop, even in slumber of night.
My mind finds something to think about.

Your Breath Sweeps On My Neck

Your breath sweeps on my neck as I sigh in relief.
Your eyes show the moon as you look at me.
I find peace each time you take me in your arms.
I see the sunshine in your smile each morning with you lying next to me.
We are the stars, the moon and the sun, as we entwine together.
The sound of your heart beat in my ears is a sweet melody.
May we never feel the pain of the song of the whippoorwill?
Seeing the light shining in the mist of the morning; you sigh with sweet delight.
In the darkness; sweet love is made.
As your breath sweeps on my neck, as I sigh in relief.
You breathe a sigh of happiness for the love that has been there for so long.
It has been the eternal time machine taking you from one place to another.
The words and feelings of long ago, relived in one night on the phone.
Staying in the time of now, will be the challenge.
With the strength of the love over several decades, time can only tell.
The length of time has shown us how much the sigh of love becomes a sweet song to be sung.

My Life

My Life

My heart has heard the song.
My dreams have been.
I see the day through someone else's heart.
The days drag along.
Each day my eyes grow dimmer.
Life has become somewhat of a dream.
People seem to go along with out a care.
I pray, I work, I live alone.
 I don't feel the life.
The life that should have been.
My mind can't seem to sing the song.
I heard from my heart for so long.
What has made this life so strange?
Nothing can stop the pain.
My heart has heard the song.
